The Breaking Bad prequel is finally here!

The pilot was on tonight, and the second episode is on tomorrow night.

This first episode was fantastic. I had high hopes, and I was not disappointed.

I was crying within the first five minutes, that opener was killer. I really can't wait to see where the rest of the season takes us.

I never was able to really get myself interested enough in Breaking Bad to follow along for five seasons. I only saw the first.

Do we need prerequisite BB knowledge to understand this show?

As it's a prequel, it's not needed. But for fans who have seen the whole of BB there's undoubtedly going to be a number of subtle "tips of the hat" to the series. It shouldn't spoil your enjoyment though Khan.

    Also, all my yes.

For anybody wondering, the first two episodes have been far faster paced, and far better in general, than the first few episodes of Breaking Bad. At least in my opinion.

Just finished episode two and I'm liking it so far. The show's done well to establish itself as distinct from Breaking Bad but still connected. It's definitely got the same problem as the early BB episodes though, where you know it's good and you enjoy watching it, but there's a kind of exhaustion that sets in that prevents you from being able to marathon it.

I thought tonight's episode was by far the best of the season so far. Looking forward to seeing how this season wraps up.

Hamlin is probably going to swoop in and take the case away because it's being worked by Chuck too. I'm thinking someone is going to notice she used Chuck's pin code to make those copies and she'll be questioned which'll lead to Hamlin finding out about the case.

Yeah, based on the previews that seems pretty likely. I'm hoping that Chuck doesn't screw Jimmy over, especially since Jimmy obviously worships him, but it sure seems to be going in that direction.

I really should have paid more attention the the hype and buildup of the show, because when I started watching last week I was assuming it was a quirky case-of-the-week sitcom, not the saddest show ever. Seriously, that final scene where Saul finally realised just how lowly Chuck sees him was heart-rending. At least we have Mike's scenes to lighten things up a little (Until he starts talking about his son, then it's back to the saddest show ever).

    Absolutely fantastic show.
