It was in Almost-Recommended, but I'm thinking this is definitely better than most and Library-worthy.

It's a series of scenes pulled from the life of Blaise Zabini's mother, recounting all of her husbands and their deaths. Written from an interesting tense choice, the fic is a series of well-written snippets wrapped together into something startlingly good, with some surprisingly hilarious moments and a few lines of dialogue at the end that I thought were great.

First 5/5 I've given in a long time.

Interresting and informative, but that's about it, it's a good quick read but it is pretty forgettable.

I read it earlier after seeing it in the Almost Rec'd thread--I liked it. A lot. It's not perfect, and it isn't Harry-centric, but it's a funny little one-shot that should be checked out. Silens gave the highlights already, so I won't waste time doing that.

I will point out, though, that I was grinning during most of it. 4/5 from me.

That was a surprisingly good read. Would have been fun to see her try to seduce Voldemort though.

5/5 in entertainment value, and when it comes down to it, that is all that really matters.

Pretty nice, concise idea here. I don't even have the faintest how idea how this idea of Zabini's mother being a Black Widow, but hey. Here it worked.

    Well written, enjoyable, entertaining.

I didn't put in the library myself because I was worried since it wasn't Harry-Centric. I really enjoyed it.

    5/5

Do you mean you don't know how this idea of Zabini's mom being a black widow happened? She's a confirmed one in HBP. The quote is in the summary.

I enjoyed the fact it doesnt turn her into a gold digger out for all the money she can get. It was way better with her doing what she did for her son.

    Here is the quote.

"Zabini, who was interrogated after McLaggen, turned out to have a famously beautiful
witch for a mother (from what Harry could make out, she
had been married seven times, each of her husbands dying mysteriously
and leaving her mounds of gold)." <-- Slug Club, Half Blood Prince.

Writing itself is good and the author manages to say a lot within a very short space.

The first thing I notice was that throughout the story the author did not mention the first name of Mrs. Zabini or even what her maiden name was. And it was done in such a manner that it didn't feel awkward while reading the story. I thought it was a good touch.

Secondly, I liked that Mrs. Zabini was not characterised to be just a gold digger and that the death of each of her husband were unique and under different circumstances.

Thirdly, the meaning of the terms, which was used to commit each murder, inserted in between the scenes was a nice touch and I liked that very much.

    Overall, I give it a 4/5.

Short, but amusing. Not THAT awesome, though.

Lol, that was pretty amusing. Only thing it has going for it is that it gives the definitions instead of explicit death scenes, fun gimmick.

Really interesting, gives that character a lot more depth than the more common and stereotypical "does it only because she is evil/wants the money" stuff. This is here of course but learning the thoughts behind it makes this a really interesting read.

    Interesting. I laughed at the
"Oh, no reason," the Black Widow says airily. "I was just wondering if he was available."
