Probably one of the best AU fics I've ever come across in HP fandom. The writing is top notch. 5/5! I'm surprised this hasn't been posted for review in DLP before ...

After reading the first chapter there isn't really anything I like.
The second chapter is even worse, all characters is waaay off, I know it's an AU, but still... It's annoying as hell.
Chapter three. NO, just no.
I can't stand reading this shit, even if there are some H/L in there
New characters with old names? No thanks.
Not my cup of tea. I'm sure that there are people who'd enjoy it though. (Crazy fangirls)

Firstly, it isn't Harry Potter. It is not Harry Potter, and unfortunately, it isn't too compelling as original fiction. People can indulge in poetic writing style, but it cannot extend into the dialogue.

Agreed about the names. Turpin is canon, but putting Emperor before it just cracks me up. Add Elixir of Life, and you have a mockery of a fic.

Ocascia brings the word troll to mind.

I do like how there isn't much sense for a timeframe. Emperor being the son of a Roman general while drinking Elixir of Life. The settings though are also unrecognizable (Misty Forest? Is this a Final Fantasy crossover), but less pleasantly so.

2/5. It was readable, but was also what it took to make me look favorably on Wit of the Raven and A Second Chance at Life.

I have the strangest feeling that this will be more appreciated somewhere in the ([very] distant) future.

I read this way back on MNFF. It's well written with a good atmosphere and a few interesting ideas, but it's got almost no plot, bad characterisation, lots of bad ideas as well as the few good ones, and all in all is pretty dull.

At first glance, I thought the title was Curse of the Raepers which made me lol a little bit. I actually read this a while back (well, I tried to read it anyway), but was bored shitless by the author's style. Also, to me, at least, it reads like fanfiction, where the author seems to expect the reader to understand everything already, when it's essentially an original fic with a few fanfic names and concepts.

1/5 for bad ideas, poor execution, and the fact that it bores me to tears.
