Vash, I have failed you. I couldn't find the fic, even searching in the archive turn up no results. I am astonished.

 

We've got various stories by both authors floating around, but not this one. Search Forum does not lie.

It was pretty interesting. I didn't like how accepting everyone was of the change, but other than that it was an okay look into how things would change in that situation. 3/5 Not horrible, but not awesome either.

*"You're either a time-traveller or someone memory charmed you," yeah, right. Like you could come up with either explanation in a split-second. Totally unbelievable beginning. They wouldn't deduce what happened to Harry in five minutes.

*"Hey, it's ok, you're still Harry. Let's all hold hands and tell stories. ~Not enough conflict.

*It feels like one person is having a conversation with themself. The characters are pretty flat.

*Plot is good enough, writing is good enough, nothing overtly terrible.

edit: Oh yeah. It also loses points for writing Luna out.
edit2: the ending could have been better if I had been able to anticipate it. Foreshadowing would have made it fall into place. Admittedly, the story is by two different authors, but still...

 

I did find that part a bit odd as well... the total lack of caring bit, but it occurred to me that they are just treating him as though he lost his memory and has a very vivid imagination... that or the original was something of a prick, but from the conversations that doesn't seem likely.

 

... I could ahve sworn this was already posted. I know I found it on DLP. maybe someone else just mentioned it somewhere. o.o

That and flat characters killed it for me. Totally lost the immersion factor.

Um...actually, it's pretty easy to work it out. I mean, we did didn't we? It's quite obvious.

 

There are at least 15 different types of Memory Loss, ranging from partial, to selective, to complete. So, no...it's not a split second choice.

 

It's not just that, but the fact that they're totally accepting of the fact that this isn't a trick by Voldemort, this isn't amnesia, this isn't an AU, and that their Harry is gone forever. It's just.... dumb.

 

It could be worse, some idjet could have writen a sequal.

Oh...wait. That did happen, didn't it.

 

I give this story 4/5 for an excellent concept, sollid writing style, and a lot of entertainment. The problems mentioned above keep it me from putting a higher rating on it, however. Overall well worth a read, in my opinion.
