I have noticed, that after I have started frequenting the DLP forums, many stories which I used to enjoy reading, have seemed so bad suddenly.
I used to read anything that stayed still, but now I notice every little spelling, grammar and punctuation error, and It is starting to irritate me...
Does anyone else have this problem?

It's a good thing; trust me. You should try reading some literature now and again, it's what I do. When you start nit-picking, grab a Stevenson or Doyle, read that, then go back to fanfiction if you want. It sates my need to quality reading, and then I can manage sifting through the bog of shit trying to find a fic that appeals to me.

That's what we are supposed to be learning in Literature and Grammar classes: the tools necessary to write and appreciate the finest that our language has to offer.

To a pre-teen, Alice in Wonderland is an imaginative, funny story. To an adult, there are layers upon layers of meaning. Stout wrote great mysteries, but what keeps me rereading his work is character interaction. Austin's work is utterly Without Flaw. Tolkein blows JKR out of the water in every area. I could go on.

Most of the literature, TV, and movies published are various levels of crap. Being able to appreciate the really good stuff - the creative ideas, the deep plots, the faceted characterization, the precise use of language - all that requires training and effort put out by the reader. It takes time and practice, but the reward is finding the D-grade FL diamonds in among the lesser offerings.

Well it seems I am not the only one, though even my lil' bro can notice the difference between the usual FFnet Drivel and the true Gems :D

I think it's great. I'm definitely asking for your help the next time I write something.

    Aww, shit!! Dammit...
I will amend my original comment now: "Every spelling, grammar and punctuation error to the best of my meager skills at the English language."
    There. Are you happy now?
    Edit: Slavery? o_O ...
Hell no! I can work as a beta reader, but I will Not be a slave to your sadistic whims...

Actually, FTR, Korisvora is just trying to get you to be the new Forum Bike. It's 'cause Jenkins got dissatisfied with the position and gave him a handjob. D:

Few years ago I read everything, now I have to check 50-100 fics before I find a decent one. And they're usually short.

    On topic again.
