Since my ambition to create a separate political survey failed last year, I have re-introduced political questions to this year's survey. They are in the final section. All questions on the survey, including the political ones, are optional/skippable.

 

I'm sorry what? The answers to the shield charm one are just trolling right? I'm missing a meme here...?

 

Yeah I am very disappointed "nuclear bomb" is as low as 50%.

 

Maybe it's a sheer cultural thing. Nuclear bombs are top of the pile for big damage, so the idea that a spell cast by an individual can negate it just doesn't gel.

 

I claim credit for the Nuclear Bomb thing.

 

It's a spell to protect you. Simples.

 

I say it protects you from the initial blast but not necessarily from the aftereffects, these need more specific charms.

 

I know I based my answer not on the initial blow of the weapon, but how survivable the aftermath would be. I also think that witches and wizards have better options in the face of nuclear annihilation than the shield charm.

 

I am honestly surprised by the number of people supporting slavery.

I think a shield charm can protect you from an assault rifle... for like two seconds.

How can you see elves like Kreacher and Dobby and say its not Slavery.

 

Outliers, they're pretty bad examples considering their mental states.

Their mental states were a result of how their masters treated them, which they couldn't affect since they were slaves who had no say in who they belong to and serve.

Why tho. What makes two seconds of physical force enough to break a magic spell?

 

That's why you push for a better treatment, the elves at Hogwarts were cool with it.

 

I am not even sure if it protects against Arrows, considering that his happened in Deathly Hallows.

Obviously, those death eaters may have not known how to do a shield charm, but surely one of them should have managed to cast one large enough to cover all of them.

Though I am not denying that there are spells to defend against things like arrows and even nuclear bombs, I doubt a simple shield charm would be enough, unless you actually put effort into studying defensive magic.
