Am I just forgetting things or have these two never soulgazed? I remember Harry looked at Murphy with his Wizard Sight in the third book, but I don't think that counts as a soul gaze. It's just kind of odd, given their relationship, that it never happened. Sure, they probably wouldn't learn anything new, but you'd think they'd stare at each other in the eye long enough for it to happen at some point.

As far as I know, no. They have not soulgazed.

I don't think I'd have missed that either. I agree though -- one would think they'd have done that by now.

I want to know what someone, anyone, sees when they soulgaze Dresden. I swear I thought we were promised that in Changes but apparently I got it wrong.

I believe it was mentioned in the first few books that he had and that's why he can look her in the eye, though he doesn't like to.

I'm pretty sure he avoids looking her in the eye because he's avoiding a soul gaze, not because he doesn't want to.

    I could be wrong.

    Can you find a quote/passage?

Unfortunately I do not have my collection with me at the moment, but I did a little looking around with google and everything points in one direction: They have in fact not had a soul gaze. Weeeiiirrrd.

The only people Harry is absolutely certain to have soulgazed before/during the first book are Ebenezar, Morgan and Susan. I think he may have soulgazed Elaine while he was a teenager too.

I think he has soul gazed her. She was covered in some kind of light holding a sword? Or was that some other scene?

While they had sex for the first time. D'awwww.

So, is there anything that goes against my pet theory that soulgazing a Dresden makes a female want to jump their bones? Elaine, Susan, and Molly on Harry, and Molly on Thomas...

That was when he was using his Sight.

Well it's supposed to be one of the most intimate things you can ever do, knowing what a person is like to their core and all. So I suppose after that sex doesn't seem so big of a deal any more.

That was when he viewed her with his Sight in one of the middle books. I think it may have been Blood Rites.

Not in the books they have not. It could have happened outside the books such as the soulgaze with Michael, but I doubt it. I expect when/if it happens, it will be big enough to warrant a scene.

Dresden and Murphy have never had soulgaze. He still makes a poin of not looking into her eyes. Also, He tries to start a Soulgaze in GP, but couldn't because of what was being done to Murphy's mind.

That's been bugging me as well. Hell, it made Susan flat out faint before Storm Front, and that one woman from Turncoat looked at Harry with full blown awe. Something freaky is happening in there.

Anyone remember Molly's reaction in Proven Guilty? I remember her saying that he was loney and hadn't "been touched in a long time", but I don't remember her initial reaction.

"The gaze ended, and the various images in the windows behind Molly vanished. The girl herself trembled like a frightened doe, staring up at me with her eyes wide and huge.
'My God,' she whispered. 'I never knew...'"

    That's it.

Well, I guess the real issue is how Butcher would show us Harry's soul. Most likely in some future novella such as Aftermath from another character's point of view.

I'm hoping Butcher writes about it in Marcone's short story. 'Even hand', I think is what it's called.

Only one of the two parties to a soulgaze has to have magic - otherwise, how would Harry have 'gazed Marcone?
