I really can't say because I don't know a first thing about Ireland.

This is why I need you guys.
If you're from other place than the extended England, please feel free to go and write an authentic name for some magical historical figure of your homeland, OC or real. Preferably with a connection to some tales of your country. It would be cool if you also put in the subject they should have been studying.

Indian, German, Chinese, anything will help.

Spoiler: A few Russian ideas

Koshchey the Deathless. A fairy-tale villain, the original Horcrux user. His descendants would be named Koshcheyevs (OC) and like to do some necromancy in their free time.

Nestor. Famous Middle Ages chronicler. Time magic?

Finn. A good wizard in one of the fairy-tales. Researched the love magic.

Chernomor. A bad wizard in the same fairy-tale. Had his magic power stored in his beard.

Kirill Korshunov (OC). Refers to "korshun", the kind of dark-colored hawk an evil wizard turns into in one of the fairy-tales. Animagic or anything else.

 

Connor O'Connor, he has a nickname I'm sure.
