Well, I'm not sure what you are talking about in the first part of your post there Vash, but the anime is an AU version of the movie. Its what could have happend. There is this one episode of it that I find very disturbing. I won't go into details here.

Well, would you PM it then?

I watched the first movie when my friend loaned it to me, then I went and bought it the next day.

The soundtrack is superbly disturbing, always always sends a chill down my spine.

Note: Any movie that can make nudity so... cold and disturbing has talent behind it.

The man that made the Manga that the movie and anime is based on is a pure genius. Shirow Masamune, I salute you.

Love Ghost in the Shell, probably the best anime that I have seen of yet. The second season was great. Loved the season finale. Can't wait to pick up both seasons and the movies. Though probably wait to pick up Innocence, since rumour wheel has it that they will be translating it to English in a few years.
Series also has some of the best soundtracks.

I never did manage to see the movie, but the stand alone complex series were amazing. The tachcomas kicked HK-47 off my best AI ever list.

    Innocence..

Meh, I've heard bad things from the ones around the fansite that watched the dubs.

Best stick with the first film, imho.

There have been rumors that in a few years Innocence will be coming out in dubbed Enlgish, finally. It will be a much needed improvement, since the subs are not very good in places.

Masamune Shirow is our god, bow to him!
GITS i currently my favortie Sci-fi series, let alone anime. The Laughing Man was the most original quasi-villan/anti-hero I've had the plesure of encountering.
