Are there any decent H/Daphne stories either completed or in progress (not abandoned)?

I've read Snakechamer and The Lies that Bind and both are passable but suffer from their own issues, and Traitorous is more a Dark Arts story than focused on character interaction.

It strikes me as odd that the pairing gets so much less play by decent authors compared to other pairings like H/T and H/F. Admittedly Daphne isn't even shown in canon, but you'd think somebody would take up the mantle (Sesc, waiting on you to finish!)

Yeah, I have. Not terrible but not exactly what I was looking for either.

 

There's also Luan Mao's Ice Princess. It's not a great fic, it's pretty average. Where it becomes interesting is if you've read the vast amounts of normal Harry/Daphne crap out there. She takes the gorgeous!genius!savior of Harry Daphne cliche and turns it on it's head. The entire plot of the fic is built around the play off the cliche though so it's not great. I though she did a nice job though with Harry though, tying in his saving people thing, social awkwardness and frustration with the world in general. Works ok as a one-shot, would be terrible if it were any longer. Worth a look I think.

 

Intoxication It's a oneshot, 30k words. The best HP/DG in my opinion.

 

I wrote this oneshot awhile ago, though it's no great shakes. (I'm only mentioning it in case you are desperate for material).

 

Perfect Situations, Matryoshka Vignettes. Jeconais' best stuff (for me). Still, even this has started signs of aging - like mindless!manipulative!Dumbledore & pretty much perfect Harry and Daphne (granted, a given in all Jeco fics).

Also, as per Sesc, you read this because it's a (relatively) good story - not because of HP/DG.

I might like it and be biased, but yeah "Champion's New Hope" is a lot more average than I wanted it to be.

 

I'm writing one at the moment if that means anything.

Yep. I was banking on the fact that it isn't too busy at the moment. And that people tell me that I'm a decent enough writer.

Duality is Harry/Daphne and its in For Review. I rec myself - read through the first 30 chapters and I intend to finish it. Though it's far from perfect by DLP standards, its as good a 'long' Harry/Daphne as I've ever read. A little over the top with the sex and smoking, which you'll either hate outright or learn to ignore/deal with.

I enjoyed reading it, even though its kind of a rehash of HBP for the first 25 chapters. It does deviate in later chapters, however.
