Trying to find a HP/Buffy where Harry hooks up with Cordelia(?) and helps Faith out when she moves to Sunnydale by having her work in his auto repair garage. Can't remember much... not sure if it was a Harem or not.. or what the ships were.. which is making it hard for me to find. Not even sure if i liked it.. was reading another HP/Buffy crossover and had the urge to find it and read it again.

Any clues?

Gah.. i thought i was in the right place.... been up all night.. almost noon here....

But yea i looked through FF.NET, might be from lack of sleep or because the story might of been a multi-cross.. who knows.. i couldn't find it. I don't ask for help till i look for it and fail. Usually i ask because i can't remember title and author and forgot most of the plot which makes stories hard to find without at least one of those.. usually just remember some scenes and that's it.

 

It sounds like it sucks.

 

90% of Harry/buffy crossovers do.

 

Actually found a fucking MARVEL and Buffy crossover that sucks less than most HP/Buffy crosses.

 

I'm confident that this is because many do not have Harry as the main character (or even as one of two).

That and the law that most crossovers suck.

 

I suspect the main problem here is trying to keep the characters from each verse using their own laws of magic.

So Harry has to wave a wand and memorize a premade spell and hope that his shit goes right, while Willow just points her hand and utters some vague mumbojumbo and everything happens. Nobody finds anything odd about this, save a one-liner from Ron or a thereafter ignored question/answer by Hermione.

This ought to be a crossover rule: the more superficially two fandoms are connected by their genre or general plot, the more likely it will be the realm of lazy authors who will fuck it up.

 

That and I don't think any really good authors have ever attempted to write one of those crossovers.
