So. Hogwarts School of Prayer and Miracles (HSPM) is total re-write of the original books, by a concerned mother. In her words:

And it is... something else. It's a total re-write, replacing magic with Christianity- and yes, that is as stupid as it sounds. I personally have nothing against reigion, but this is just... urgh.

For starters, the blatent sexism (towards the writers own gender) is truly awful. According to this fic, all women should stay at home, never having careers or actual lives outside of raising children.

Aunt Petunia is a "career woman" who believes in evolution, Dumbledore is maried to McGonagall (who is young), everyone has a carpet of chest hair, Voldemort has been reduced to a fucking politician, and Hermione cries no less that 4 times in 12 chapters.

Oh, and there is a "pray off". I am not even fucking joking.

But by far the most stupid thing is the fact that every single problem anyone ever encounters in this fic can be solved with praying.
Hagrid and Harry need to get to Hogwarts- they pray and God takes them there.
They need food- They prey and God gives them some.
They cant open a door- PRAY TO GOD, IT WILL SOLVE EVERY PROBLEM YOU CAN EVER HAVE.

I would highly suggest reading it, if only for the sheer hilarity. (It's on ffnet, but I'm awful at links.)
Also, do you think it's a trollfic, or genuine?

I desperately want this to be a troll. The first chapter has the highest number of semicolons/wordcount ratio I've ever seen.

A friend linked me to this the other day. This is a sad, sad fic. Not a crack!fic, from what I could tell. No troll either. This is a true creationist writing religious fanfiction.

I sincerely hope this is a serious attempt at trolling. Maybe some sociological/psychological experiment.

 

For future reference: this SHOULD be in WTF fics. It's an official thread on a topic, this applies, and you SHOULD necro something instead of making a new thread.

On to the "story" I think it's a trollfic, because it feels so transparently targeted and made to get reactions like this. HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is actually GOOD in its own special way, this is just... nothing.

 

It's in the worst summary thread. Someone mentioned it and there are three or four posts in response.

My favourite part of this is where she says there's no evidence for evolution. Well, except for, I don't know, ALL THE EVIDENCE.

I swear. I'd never thought Creationism in the States would get so bad that it starts getting expressed in fanfiction. I mean, seriously? WTF?

 

It's probably a trollfic. Like Zircon said, it's been tailored to get a rise out of the average reader.

 

I read the first chapter. It did not get a raise out of me, it made me facepalm, close the fic and go out for a beer.

 

It's a troll. The amount of guest reviews in that short amount of time should tell as much.

 

Definitely a troll fic, and not even a very good one. My immortal and 30 hs are both way more ironically funny then this.

 

It seems there was a long thread on reddit not long ago started by the author. I think the conclusion was that it was a well executed Poe.

EDIT (should have finished the chapter before posting): The new chapter has taken this to even more stupidness. (so bad it seems to be affecting my grammar.) In this chapter, The Incredible Evil of... ECO CARS!
