I am writing a plot ,where the MC want to steal Albus Dumbledore's hair for a ritual.
So any ideas/plots in your mind?

My fanfic's magical theory is like this

• There are no Magical cores, It all depends upon the ability to transfer magic through his/hers body.
• One can become as powerful as Bellatrix Lestrange by Practicing spells and curse repeatedly . practicing spells will familiarise your body with your magic, But that's it,that's the limit for a normal wizard/witch. the main difference between Albus Dumbledore/Voldemort and normal wizard is talent. That's the thing you need to channel more magic through you body.

And The procedure of ritual is

• Create a body with the help of Dumbledore's hair and transfer his soul in that body.
• Creating a temporary Horcrux ,which will act like an anchor, During the the soul transfer procedure (It will leave some long lasting effect after reattaching his soul back to his master soul)

 

You walk up to the staff table while everyone is milling around after desert and you pick one of the hairs from around his seat. Man is pretty ancient, he's gonna shed a little.

You could also go the less ballsy way of asking Dobby to let you into his office but the portraits would put a stop to things pretty sharpish and that's probably against some rule. Maybe ask him instead to let you inspect one of his wizard hats from the laundry?

 

I want to make it a little bit harder for the MC to get his hair, But thanks for your advice.

 

I mean, why make it harder than it has to be? I suppose you could follow him around with the invisibility cloak until you catch a stray but that would suck scheduling wise for the MC.

You could try to slip him something to knock him out and steal it then but I can't see that working at all.

Maybe have the difficulty lie in convincing the elf to help?

 

I will go with this. Because the house elfs working at Hogwarts are loyal to Dumbledore and Dobby is still serving the Malfoys.

 

Work out a deal with Peeves. He gets it and he gives you a challenge.

 

If you want to make it harder, require that he needs much more hair than a few strands.

With this in mind:

• He could build up his creepy headmaster hair collection over the course of many months of stalking the staff table/staff rooms. In the process of stalking he'd probably have to become a teacher's pet type figure to explain why he's always up there.
• Break into his office and steal his comb several times - runs the risk of him being too tidy and vanishing the hair.
• Break into his bedroom and cut his beard off during the night. I vote this option for maximum fun. If stealth is a concern, there are potions which can rapidly regrow hair. Will he notice, though?
• The clever? option: you say in your world you can continually practice spells in order to grow more powerful with them. Perhaps the same also applies to polyjuice. So it's theoretically possible to get good enough with brewing polyjuice to produce potions with longer effects - or permanent transformations. Acquire one of these brews from a legendary potions master, figure out how to apply it to either an animal or other hair sample for access to a permanent dumbledore hair transformation. Bonus points for having the ritual go horribly, horribly wrong with this method. It's not "real" hair, after all...

 

Summoning Charm, we already know it can be used for Hair, Dumbledore probably wont notice it if you time it right.

 

As an alternative idea from the above, perhaps your MC could spike Dumbledore's food or drink with a balding potion as a "prank". If he's a particularly cunning MC perhaps he actually gets someone else to do the dirty work, luring the twins into doing it or something so that there's a layer of distance. The best thing would be if the potion took a while to work, a delayed reaction type thing. So that Dumbledore's hair all falls out in a quiet corridor on his way back to his office. But even if its instantaneous and happens in the Hall, a suitable distraction to turn everyone's attention elsewhere (perhaps a great big glowing sign on the wall assigning credit for the prank) and a swift summoning charm and you could get a few hairs without any issues.

 

Polyjuice as Grindelwald and offer a wild, kinky night, sneak in some doggie-style with plenty of hair-pulling. Side-achievement: unlock gay fandom.

PG13 version: polyjuice as a cute baby, get someone to make Dumbledore hold you and have at his beard.
