Honestly why the fuck isn't Jade Empire compatiable with Vista? I know some people who claimed it worked on theirs but the damn thing won't work on my computer! >_< I'm using Home Premium 32-bit (which I loathe btw) the comp won't let me downgrade to Vista so I'm pretty much screwed. I googled it and have no damn luck. I tried changing the DEP settings but I still get the freaking error. I don't even see the beginning of a screen! Yes I changed the configuration (which pisses me off even more I can get the damn launcher to work but not the game?)

I'd lay the blame for this on Windows. Making Vista backwards compatible is their responsibility.

If I were you, I'd install XP.

No you didn't. And what do you mean, won't let you? Format hard drive, insert XP install disc. It's that easy.

I've had many problems running games on Vista, but have never not been able to after figuring out the problem.

    You're not trying hard enough.

    ...Yeah...

I've been trying to get it to work for the last week. *sighs* Fuck it. I'll just play the damn game on my notebook. (Which is the lulzy part my notebook has Vista too but the damn game works on it! >_< Fucking same version too!)

To those who say why didn't I do that in the first place its because my desktop has a better graphics card and processor. It runs like crap on my notebook.

Its no doubt your video card drivers (or sound). I had to take out my Audigy card (and use onboard sound) to get one of my games to work. Some games/programs just don't like certain hardware.

Can you post the specs of your desktop?

Is there a specific error code that you are getting?

I assume that you have tried running straight from the .exe?

Someone from Bioware's forums posted this:
    Also, try re-installing DirectX 10

Have you tried running in compatibility mode?

Also how much do you need to back up? 2-4 gig flash drives arent that expensive now a days.
