I'm afraid this is a bit vague... I recall a story in which an Independent Harry is refused the opportunity to go to Diagon Alley and requests receipts for purchases. I think Ron was offended by the very idea, and so were some of the other Weasleys. As is standard for this genre of story, my guess is that they were stealing from Harry. Does anyone know what this is?

It could be anywhere around 50 different fics (of 100k+ word length).

The whole Weasley's stealing from Harry plot is horribly overdone to the point of where I want to bludgeon the author to death. No originality whatsoever.

You might as well add in power blocks, magical animagus/metamorphmagus, super rich Harry, manipulative and stupid!Dumbledore, etc because you are probably going to run into a lot of fics that feature these cliches as well because more often than not, they go hand in hand with Greedy!Thieves!Weasley's.

 

I know. The asking for receipts, though, is something different. I believe he gave the reason that he had to learn to manage his money or something like that.

Edit: this was actually a search that somebody else put up. But I know I've read it... somewhere. And since DLP loves Indy!Kickass!Harry stories, I figured this would be the place to ask.
