Ipod Classic battery

    I've got an Ipod classic model:MC297LL with a bad battery. I don't really want to take it apart just to find out the type of battery. Google search doesn't really help me out. Does anyone else have this model Ipod, and do the know the battery model number?

    Yea they give me a choice between a thick and a thin battery. They claim either one might fit.

    Do you have an Apple store with a genius bar near you? It might be worth it to go and check out to see if they'll help.

    My iPod classic had a headphone jack problem, the Apple store replaced the entire thing for free, even though it was years out of warranty.

    Unfortunately the closest store is too far away, but I think I found what I was looking for. I'll see what happens next.
