I go to my temporary internet files folder by hitting Internet options > Browsing History Settings > view files. When I open the folder, there's nothing there, not even one cookie. Why?

    How do I fix this?

It should have all the sites I've visited and cookies but it doesn't. '

I'm running vista and I have my temp files storage set to 300 MB so it can't be that there's too little space.

Uh... maybe you have it to clear it, each time you close IE. Or you have it set so that it doesnt keep cookies/temp files. I dunno. Gonna have to give us a little more buddy.

Gonna assume that you're using IE8?

First thing you should do, is not use that. Another thing to do would be to download Opera.

Also, it sounds like what Mercenary said. Check your settings. If its IE8, there's an Advanced Options button.

Or Firefox 3.0 not 3.5. I've heard bad things about 3.5.

Nothing wrong with 3.5 or Opera, depending on your preference, but Internet Explore is shit. Also, download CCleaner and you can periodically delete your cookies and Temp files while checking your computer and registry for errors, without having to check user-unfriendly options on IE8, or whatever you use.

Don't use Ccleaner to organise startup programs, however.

Meh, I never liked TuneUp Utilities. Seemed to try to do too much, and caused my computer to hang half the time I used it.

I didn't say he shouldn't use it altogether, just not to manage startup programs. <_<
