Reign of Power by Fayr Warning is the best fic of that kind.

 

holy CRAP!!! I lost 2 of the best politics Harry stories on my list just now....errh...ahm

well, there was this decent one where Harry's lord of Tenroe or something and he saves the offsprings of several other lords, who then diss the ministry and dumbledore by publically pledging to support him.

There's also another one where Harry teams up with Flammel and dude named Morgan to take control of the ministry and breaks the heir of VOldemort out of Azkaban.

For most European people its ok if someone is "bigotted" as long as he doesn't express it in violence and lack of culture.
