Scheduled Downtime: Saturday, July 31st

    DLP (and associated websites and services) will be down on Saturday, July 31st at any time from 9am to 11am EST. The server will be down an estimated 10-30 minutes for a hardware upgrade.

    We will be getting additional (750GB) of non-redundant storage for backups and scratch disk space to supplement our redundant 250GB of storage.

    Additionally, we received a free gigabit port upgrade allowing for greater concurrency.

    Services offline:

    • DLP Forums
    • PayPal donations
    • PatronusCharm
    • DLP IRC

    SoftLayer was kind enough to give us this upgrade for $5/month versus the normal cost of $60/month.

    With extra storage space, avatar and sig space will be bumped up and other data-heavy services may follow.

    Depending on when I wake up, things such as DLP IRC may take longer to come back.

    While the upgrade started a bit late, we are back up and running with an additional 750GB of HDD space and a connection an order of magnitude faster.
