SNES Classic is coming out on 9/29. Same thing as the Nes Classic, except for Snes.

This list of games is ridiculous (and shamelessly copy/pasted from reddit).

    Contra III
    Donkey Kong Country
    Earthbound
    Final Fantasy VI
    F-Zero
    Kirby Super Star
    Kirby's Dream Course
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
    Mega Man X
    Secret of Mana
    Star Fox
    Star Fox 2 (previously unreleased)
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
    Super Castlevania IV
    Super Ghouls & Ghosts
    Super Mario Kart
    Super Mario RPG
    Super Mario World
    Super Metroid
    Super Punch-Out
    Yoshi's Island

All of these are top tier games, and physical copies are rediculously expensive, so to see them all at the $80 price tag is amazing. I physically own more than half of this list, and some of them like Secret of Mana and Earthbound are pretty rare, but I'm glad to see them on this list. Also STAR FOX 2.

That is a fantastic lineup of games. If I can ever actually find one in stock I'll definitely be purchasing one for that cheap.

Maybe somewhere in a parallel universe, there's a Nintendo corporation that will actually make enough of their products to keep up with demand, instead of just enabling cocksucker eBay resellers by creating their own artificial shortages every time they get a wild hair and release new hardware.

    This is not that universe.

Ordered one immediately. Cost me about 208 dollars, would have paid much more than that.

I've been casually collecting the last year and the only ones I don't already own on that list is Contra III and Kirby's Dream Course so it's not really worth it to me. Except... Star Fox 2. >.<

Fuck you Nintendo, why you do this to me.

How can people even suffer ancient PAL/NTSC consoles on a modern flat screen without all the CRT blur? I didn't enjoy a PSX1 at all when I tried it on a LCD for nostalgic reasons and SNES has even lower resolution. I've grown out of my Lego period a long time ago to appreciate this.

Kind of like old cars. Yeah but why?

Sometimes its nice to plug in an old console and play a nice and easy relaxing game like Ghouls 'n Ghosts...

In my experience, 2D graphics really don't suffer that much at high resolution. I play my snes (and turbografx 16) games on my 46 inc LED with no problems. Sure, it's not super HD whatevergame on a $4000 computer, but it's not the awkward 3D polygonal graphics from ps1/n64 gen either

PS1 is especially bad because of shaky polygons.

I don't quite get why everyone's crazy about these remake consoles. Especially since emulation has been trivially available as have those 100-in-1 "attach to TV" consoles.

Then again I didn't have video games in the house until the N64. Maybe it's just nostalgia?

Question: What if Starfox 2 (a game they canned because they allegedly didn't want it competing with n64 games but was probably just not great) is better than the recent garbage Starfox? Lol.
