I was reading "A Genius Grows", which on paper is a very bad Fic, starting with the very first paragraph (complete with both Hadrian and Harrison). But it was so Cliche-ridden, so rushing to complete some checklist, that I personally found it hilarious. I honestly don't know if it's all an elaborate and clever way to parody the entire genre, or the Author is just that bad. But even if it was all deliberate, I still got a strangely good read out of it. It's like watching Anakin and Padme's 'so in love with you' shtick in Return of the Jedi: it's so bad, that laughter is the only real way you can respond.

And then it occurred to me: are there other Stories out there like that? Ones that fail on so many levels, they are (unintentionally) funny? Ones that in all seriousness wrote an accidental Parody/Comedy Fic?

Anyone have some good suggestions?

 

My Immortal is a given.

And then there's Partially Kissed Hero.

 

I can understand My Immortal but I've always thought Partially Kissed Hero was good enough to just be bad.

 

I felt the same way about Partially Kissed Hero. It was decent on a technical level, which only made the many Cliches and Problems all the more obvious.

My Immortal, on the other hand, is a different story. I of course know what it is, but I never actually tried reading it. Maybe I should change that.

Eh, it's been a while since I read it. But I do remember it wasn't memorably bad and didn't have anything too blatantly cliched, and in the world of FanFiction that's actually an accomplishment.

Always a fan of Harry/Fleur/Slave!Tracey. Probably the story that made me finally come out as Tracey > Daphne, tbh

I like how it's just rated as a "Trainwreck" on most of the chapters.

Funnily enough that title is the whole reason that I've never looked at that fic.

Wrought from the silver heart of heaven's false promise, laced with vessels that pulsed with angel's menstrual blood, hewn from the horns of Satan's generals, it laughed as it was set loose, a laugh that only Harry could hear, but no one could share?

You should remedy this as soon as possible - preferably by listening to this.

 

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, My Immortal and The Office are the deathly hallows of this fandom. 27/10

 

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is actually one of few Harry Potter stories I've read completely more than twice.
