Something we were doing on IRC that I thought we could continue here. I think it can be quite a useful resource, especially for people writing extended action sequences.

    Spell movement verbs

Shoot, hurtle, blast, rush, speed, lance, fly, launch, smash, crash, lash, burst, swirl, roar, erupt, explode, pierce, cut, slice, rip, push, throw, streak, dart, spit, spiral, arc, sweep, ripple, flash, emanate, flow, unfurl, unfold, bloom, blossom, send

    Wand movement verbs

Jab, sweep, twitch, flick, thrust, twirl, swish, wave, stab, whip

    Spell impact verbs

Hit, land, strike, drill, nick, explode, throw, launch, spear, shimmer, bounce, blast, pin, press, push, crush, draw, ricochet, pierce, clip, cut, slash, slice, smash, crash, sting, bite, clang, thud, smack, crack, warp, transform, shift, mutate, melt, liquefy, shred, break, snap

Now you add yours. Credit to MattSilver for a lot of these.

Feel free to make new categories too (e.g. words associated with fire).

Edit: just saw the typo in the thread name. If any mod wants to change it, that'd be great.

Great list, awesome work. I'd love to see one for human movement although I guess that there'd be more ground to cover on such a large topic. Anyhow, this is a good way to avoid repetition.

I will concede that the new verb is an addition to the list of descriptors, but I'm not sure it was really worth necroing a fairly old post for.
