Deposited into Karakura slightly before the events of the story, our SI Russel comes to terms with the fact that A, He died. B, There's floating boxes and C, His system is a sassy super-nova with a desk job. Making friends with a dirty mouthed Priests daughter with a penchant for BDSM, a meek Shinigami with a dark past and a Girl who.. just likes punching things was not on his to do list, but he's not complaining. Oh, don't forget the dog sized Ant Summon.

This is a well written adventure with a liberal dose of humour that successfully embraces The Gamer aspects without it turning into a mary-sue. It gives a simple ranking system for characters/world objects and keeps the UI/Stats simple too, without pages of perks and passive effects and whatnot.

Characterisations are all on point with each new party member feeling well fleshed out and have actual depth, all bringing their own mindset to the 'team', which makes it sound clinical when in actual fact it's just a bunch of friends raiding dungeons and figuring out how not to die while investing in their own unique specialisations. The story has been pretty focused so far on the growing group and their times spent in dungeons with little effects on canon.. up until the latest chapter where things sort of go tits up for canon.

I'm writing this during work so it's not really that enticing plus I'm terrible at being descriptive, however I have fully enjoyed reading it and it updates ridiculously fast.

    4/5.

There are a lot of words for how little happens. Pacing is an issue, and while the OCs are quite good, I can't help but see it all as an extended prologue to get through before we can see them interacting with canon. For now, 3/5.

Agreed, I forgot to say that in the original comment that for all that's written less than a couple of weeks has passed. Thanks.

So this started as a guilty-pleasure for me and I ended up dropping it when
Russ and the nun finished the train dungeon and the nun summons the angel Gabriel as part of some ability

Maybe it's gotten better since then but in my mind it was veering way too far from the mythos in Bleach for it to be a Bleach fic. Russ was getting magic type abilities way too easily, technically it was fine, but it fits somewhere in the almost reccomended.... maybe.

I am having fun with this story. Russel is the rare kind of male SI that I don't hate, who isn't a douchebag (yet), the side cast is fun and yeah, not a masterpiece or anything but a fun time waster.

    4/5 from me so far
