    Title: Stars Fade
    Author: totallybursar
    Rating: M
    Genre: Adventure/Fantasy
    Status: WIP
Fandom: Mass Effect (post ME3)/Dragon Age 2
Pairings: Listed as FemShep/F!Hawke, but is actually
    F!Hawke/Varric
with no real pairing for Shepard as yet.
Summary: Shepard knows that destroying the Reapers will kill her. Except she's never been good at dying. The explosion of dark energy from the Crucible thrusts Shepard into a totally different universe.

The story is quite good, with a Shepard that is likeable and interesting. Her presence doesn't screw with the 'mechanics' of the Dragon Age universe overly much, as she is working with limited resources in regards to her tech.

Characterisation of Hawke and her companions is done extremely well, and is rather humorous all the way through. Isabella's 'friend fics' are particularly amusing.

Hints of an overarching plot aren't exactly thick on the ground, but have been beginning to show through in the last several chapters. Previously, things have just focused on Shepard's adaption to Thedas and the plot of DA2.

Personally, I'd give this a five out of five.

It's not bad, and it is certainly amusing and entertaining to a degree, but it isn't exactly funny and it really is inconsistent with the mood and atmosphere. It doesn't really treat this situation Shepard found herself all that seriously what with all the flirting and one liners but then it tries to be more serious with Shepard's thoughts. Then we get this plot with the Quinari which I really, really dislike and to which I don't think Shepard reacts in character at all.

All in all, amusing read but not really library material in terms of story building and character interaction.

    3/5, in a good way.

I'd agree with most of what TheWiseTomato said, if it weren't for the last few chapters, which've dragged along sluggishly, for no apparent reason, with Shepard recovering from a deus-ex-machina sickness just to have her spend more time in the Qunari compound with her would-be abusive boyfriend, the Arishock.

It has no foreseeable plot yet, and it tries to please its readers too much IMO. 3/5 from me at this point.

It's good. Balanced in power, interesting in acclimatisation process.
Probably 4/5 and only for some recent delays in story, where it just beat around the bush for a while.

Ive enjoyed most of it, except the whole would be rape on Shep by the Quanari. Do not want. I just want that whole subplot to die horribley. Seriously whyyyyyyy?

If I were Shep I would have sniped that motherfucker for even thinking about it. Ffs.
