I think this works here I'm not certian.

In my own opinion and this is my own personal opinion there is way to much slash in HP fanfiction for the FF out there so I have to ask this poll question.

Of course there's way too much slash. Lately, I've been avoiding the Harry Potter fandom entirely because of that. I've been browsing smaller fandoms which, mostly, haven't been affected yet.

You know, I'll probably never start writing. Stupid stereotypes.

I might vote slash just to fuck the polls perfection...

With that said here is Giovanni's view.

Personally I go for Het stories... I don't mind slash, I really don't, its just that I don't want to read about Harry fucking Draco/Severus up the ass or vica versa... And since thats what most slash devolves into within 1500 words I tend to avoid it.

We can all blame a person on ff.n named Frizzy for that - her story is the one everyone else got the idea from.

Did her story at least have a plot?

Other than a male character getting knocked up *snickers at his use of 1950's slang in a sentence* and having a kid?

Yes, actually it did. If one can stand slash, it's actually well done. That's the thing about the horrid cliches - whoever came up with the idea made it palatable, and then most of the people who followed... didn't.

And such is the way of the world... One visionary is followed by thousands of idiots.

Of course problems arise when one idiot is followed by other idiots... Sort of like Bill O'Reilly, and the people who take what is said on the O'Reilly factor as legitimate politcal commentary instead of poorly written comedy.

And thats how MPREG came to be... The O'Reilly of Slash Fanfiction got followers.

It's also how all of our prefered cliches came into existance.

    Sad but true.

oh I had a basic Idea but as this is not the only forum I was planning on putting this poll on I thought that it might be a good place to start. Unfortunatly I got kicked of the computer just after I posted here saturday and am only just now able to get back on.

FemSlash and slash subtexts are chill, so long as its with characters that can reasonably be thought of as gay(Colin, Justin Finch-Fletchley)/lesbian(Luna)/bi(Ron)/hermaphrodite(Ginny) from canon. It really bugs me when Harry is made to be gay, though, not because I'm homophobic or anything, but because its so completely opposite from canon. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I had to say it.
