1. Hey Guest, welcome back to DLP

As you can see, we've changed our look. We've migrated from vBulletin to the Xenforo forum system. There may be issues or missing functionality, if you find anything or have feedback, please check out the new Xenforo Migration Feedback forum.

Our dark ("Dark Lord Potter") theme is under heavy development. We also have a light ("Light Lord Potter") theme for those happier with a light background and darker text.

That is odd. There are very few astronomical events that take place on a timescale as minuscule as two-and-a-half years. Plus, that's a pretty big amount of dust to clear out, so the process must have been damn efficient.

Solar mass stars are pretty volatile when they're that young, though, but I don't see how that could clear out a dust disk so quickly. Poynting–Robertson drag - which causes dust particles to spiral into their parent star - is possible, but again, the timescale is too short (in our own Solar System, it usually takes on the order of a thousand years for it to clear out dust from an Earth-like orbit).

    This is very interesting...

It's the doing of an invisible Space Whale. It eats the dusty thingys as if they were plankton and burps magic stardust and souls.
