Finished nanowrimo for the first time. 50k words in 30 days is no joke. Only issue is that the story is just getting started, and then there's the even harder part of actually editing it.

    Again, congratulations to that!

I've got the same problem with my story regarding to where it's at right now -- dab in the mushy middle. I only think very briefly about editing though, since my last novel has shown me the amount of work quite clearly. If I kept that knowledge present in my mind all the time, I probably wouldn't touch the keyboard for quite a while.

So just chart your way through the story, tell it to yourself, and worry about all the other stuff later. NaNoWriMo was a great opportunity to get a good start -- that's all I really wanted out of it.

TOMD: Recorded some grainy footage on my POS phone, made a video. Editing a 7 min short film took me almost an hour.

TOMD: Participated in my first Muay Thai fight at an interclub between 15 major British universities, won by unanimous decision 3 rounds to 1.

My opponent completely gassed himself out in the first round trying to clinch me (got hit by some damn nasty knees though). By the second round, his footwork had gone to shit from all of the low kicks I'd been throwing, and in the third and fourth he could barely bring his hands up, so ate two rounds worth of punches to the head.

Was a very fun experience, definitely doing it again!

Well, TOMD was an intense shoot out right behind my building. I live in front of a slum, and a faction of a cartel tried to take it over from another cartel. Police came in and stopped it. 1 hurt, 12 people escaped. 5 min of intense shootout. Assault rifles and everything. not fun

3 dead. one hurt from the cartel. One officer hurt. 3-4 rifles apprehended.

My aunt died unexpectedly in Michigan. There's young children, they're very poor, it's bad all around. Paramedics and police had to come and ended up breaking down the bathroom door because she was locked inside. It happened the night before her daughter's sixth birthday, and this little girl was telling people she was sad, and also wondering if she'd still get cake.

TOMD was the police officers that came back later in the day with a birthday cake. Still a shitty day, but nice to see someone trying to make it a bit better.

TomD: My Pharmacy just called. Apparently the drug that I take for my MS hasn't had it's coverage renewed/extended. So I'm left on the hook for $5,000~

So I now need to contact the people who should have been taking care of the paperwork that deals with this, because it's supposed to be covered under the local Chronic Disease Program.

Naturally the pharmacist called on a Sunday to tell me about this. And since I can't do squat till tomorrow I'm left worrying for the rest of today.

Hello fellow MS buddy! Allow me to sincerely commiserate.

For what it's worth, I haven't had a relapse since I went on one of those fancy new oral medications (Tecfidera) five years ago, but if you have something that works for you it's not like you want to switch. Also there's been like 4 cases of people on the drug developing PML, but what can you do? Anyway, I hope dealing with the bureaucratic bullshit isn't too painful.

I'm actually on Tecfidera too. Oral pills ftw!

And yeah, hopefully shouldn't take too long to get the mess sorted. The doctor's are all happy with how I'm doing on the drug, my guess is that the specialist clinic nurse just didn't do the paperwork to get the committee to approve the funding for another year.

I-94 is a solid sheet of ice between Dickinson ND and Billings MT from what I've heard. Today's drive to my hot springs vacation near Bozeman (middle of Montana) will be such an adventure!

On the plus side, I didn't die last night when I learned about the start of the ice patch the exciting way at 1030pm local time (I lost traction going 65mph when my nice ice free road turned into nothing but ice in the span of 5 seconds.)

TOM(yester)D: The biological father of my adopted daughter showed up to my house yesterday drunk out of his mind, baseball bat in hand, and itching for a fight again. I told him to go away, he proceeded to try and rip down my Christmas lights and knock over my trees I have on the porch. Daughter calls the police, I subdue him in spectacular fashion, they take him away.

What the fuck is wrong with people? I get it his pride has taken a pretty big beating, but does he really want his body to take one again too? I mean, this guy has a job, two other kids (that are both basket cases, and probably won't ever leave home), and a wife still - how do people think this is the best course of action?

Sheesh. I get drunk, I just laugh a lot and get sappy.

You booked a vacation in Bozeman in December and didn't expect the ice patch? Nice place and all, but man, go in October or something. :)

Needed a 77 percent in pharmacology to pass. If I'd failed, I would have to appeal to the college and write a letter begging to get back in.

Got an 80 on the final to bring my grade up to 78.77%.

I know it seems kind of pathetic, and usually I expect a lot more of myself when it comes to education, but this has been the most horrifically difficult semester I've ever experienced. When it comes to the amount of work, at least.

Our pharmacology professor was a replacement for someone who was recovering from surgery, and she flat out told us on the first day that she didn't want to be teaching.

Highlight from that class (there are so many): I want to go into Oncology. When we started the lecture on Anti-cancer drugs, her exact words were "I've never given chemotherapy, and I've never wanted to, so I'm no expert on these," which lead perfectly into her stopping the class in the middle of lecture to say to us "So are you all as bored of this as I am?"

    Oh, the rage.

But I win. Eat a dick, pharmacology and level two of nursing in general.

A few months ago I jokingly put 150 dollars in bitcoin.

    It is now worth 500.

Now I'm like... do I cash out? A 5000 point increase in two days means a crash is coming, right? riggghttt?

    I hate investments sometimes.

Bitcoin is weird because there's no real reason it should be climbing at the rate it is. It's very hard to know if you should take it out because it doesn't behave like any other investment would. There's no 'fundamentals' for you to look at and see if it's over/under valued beyond things like volume of trades (which hasn't gone up nearly enough to justify the rise in price).

Even worst, events that really should've had a severe impact on it such as China pulling out (which was about 15% of the user base) ended up having a negligible impact.

I don't really understand why it keeps rising, but there's people saying that it'll be around $40k-$55k by the end of next year. So if you can survive without your $150 (which is what you're actually losing if it somehow crashes), I'd stay in it and see where it goes.

    Lol, i wish.

    Nope, only 150 dollars.

@Nazgus - You're right. No point in pulling out the money now, though I doubt it will end up at 40k. I just wish I invested the other 350 dollars I put in Ethereum, into bitcoin.

I know someone who took all of theirs out when it peaked at $1000 a few years back. They did double their money, but they stood to make x34 if they'd kept it in lol. No way they could've known, but they still doesn't like to talk about it.
