TOMD: A Professor from University College Dublin read a blogpost of mine, and contacted me out of the blue, asking me if we could discuss it. He and I are having a Skype call in a few hours, during which he asked me to read up on a bunch of theories which he wishes to discuss with me.

    I'm honestly overwhelmed.

Guy called Hasheem Mannan from the school of nursing. Was an interesting conversation, I just got off the phone.

TOMD: Just got off an informational call and she commented on how mellow I am.

I'm not a mellow person. I'm an over-caffeinated, stress-riddled gremlin that is probably a shot of espresso from launching itself into the sun. I would like to thank my time at the call center for making me a very soothing presence, but also sabotaging me in the phone interview. I'll be doing sound checks the rest of the day.

The last stall in the men's toilets at work shares a wall with what I assume is the last stall in the women's toilets. Whenever I'm shitting in it and I hear someone in there I'll give the wall a friendly knock so they know I'm right next to them having a poo.

Been doing it for about a year now.

Today I got my first knock back. ❤️

Apparently I've got mystical music summoning powers. I'm still in the dark ages and use Pandora over Spotify on the way to work (which is about an hour). Commercial comes on, and I started humming a song randomly (Army of the Night by Powerwolf). Commercial finished, and bam, the song starts playing.

To be honest though, the chances of that happening aren't that crazy. Firstly, it's a very catchy song, prone to pop up in my head at any time. Secondly, I was listening to my usual Sabaton station. That station does have quite a wide range of artists to pull from, but Powerwolf (and Alestorm) I would consider to be in heavy rotation, while bands like Nightwish and Falconer would be medium rotation, and Powerwolf does have a tendency to play immediately after a Sabaton song, which is what happened.

Regardless, I found it super amusing.

TOMD: Winning an election with 100% of the vote is a great feeling. The next year is going to be even better than the last :)

Some sort of internal vote right? No way to get a 100% in any sort of public election.

Charles D. B. King had 1620% of the vote in the Liberian presidential election of 1927, so I'd say there are ways of getting 100% of the vote.

So my dad's corgi puppy jumped on my older (10y.o.) dog's back. My dog apparently let out a very high pitched yelp (I heard it from inside the house, through closed windows), and is currently acting as straitening her spine is painful. (She's currently curled up on the bed, shivering quite a bit.)

So, TomTommorow: Probably a vet visit, because to try to get her in tonight would cost upwards of 300-400$ even if the vet says she's just spooked.

Edit: Fixed prices of emergency vet visit, cheaper than I thought.

Accurate. But also sometimes you do a good enough job that the only people thinking of running against you make a handful of phone calls, and then call you to say that they'd thought about taking a shot, but were withdrawing from the race.

Apparently their calls all went like "Giovanni does all this shit, will you?" Then they added up the time commitment and noped right the fuck on out.

Organizational vote. No one ever gets 100% in public elections, even in uncontested contests there's always some asshole who writes his own name in.

TOMD: Qualifying for this year‘s Le Mans 24h race has begun. There are few sights superior to seeing prototypes and GT cars cutting their way through traffic on what would normally be largely public roads, trying to use the encroaching darkness as lap times start to tumble.

It‘s an amazing spectacle, even in front of the television.

TOMD: for the first time in history, the St. Louis Blues have won a Stanley Cup. It's been a wild ride, and the clincher today was insane. This city is going crazy right now.
