Drawing is a big use of the rhomboids, so you'll need to do some sort of fly type exercise to get those. Also, when you are doing your pushups, make sure to go slow on the downstroke so that you get your full trapezius use.

Hmm... a quick google is showing me all exercises that require gym equipment for that. Do you happen to know any that don't? Can do a more in depth search later if not, but thought I'd ask.

Will do on the push-ups! Thanks for the tip.

My car has failed the MOT. Very much so.

I'm looking at a £700 bill minimum to get it roadworthy. As I need the car to get to work, I'm just going to have to stomach that.

Guess it's time to start looking into buying a car again.

TOMD: the last exams of my university life are upon me in two months and will take one hour apiece (I got five of those suckers). Delving deep into the linguistic mysteries right now and I can't say that I'm having the time of my life. Fuck phonology with a rusty spoon.

In other news, I nearly failed my last set of overhead pressing today. Form was going whack during the last two reps and the bar became so damn heavy. Will probably have to stay at that ohp weight for a week or two before increasing again. I don't want to fuck with form when I'm balancing 45kg above my head.

So, right now my life consists entirely of studying, gym, and occasionally, if I can squeeze it in, some writing.

Amen to that. During my phonology course I had to stop myself from correcting the teacher when she inevitably mangled some poor unsuspecting word.

Ouch. Enjoy the next few weeks of suffering. Keep a lot of paracetamol on hand for the fever and drink water + honey to stop your throat from fucking itself. Otherwise rest up and binge watch as much Netflix as the exhaustion will let you.

I have sudden, stabbing pains in my ribcage that come and go for no reason at all. My suspicion is that it might be pleurisy.

I had a good run of some 42 months but cannot avoid the doctor anymore.

    @Aekiel

The one good thing about my flus is that they come at me fast, hit hard, and are gone in a week. Anyway, thanks for the kind words. I've taken this week off and I'm stocked up on drugs (goddamn it @Andrela don't you dare throw my words back at me) and I'll be chugging tea with honey by the kettleful.

I feel like jello. Fuck flu season.

Anything that hits my lungs puts me down for weeks. Last time I had flu I was over it in around 2 weeks but lost my voice half way through and couldn't use the middle two octaves for another fortnight. That was a fun time.

Don't worry, we ended up taking several more things than just codeine. So you still win.

I'm being shamelessly hypocritical considering I've needed surgery for the last 2 years but uhhh don't do that.

Well, I'm glad you're doing better--sounds like you are. I'd send you some of my dragon moose energy but I'm empty right now. The date for the psych ward is coming up, it's tomorrow, right? Stay strong, we'll be waiting for your safe return.

edit: say hello to JBlaise while you're there

Yeah the requirements are wild. No shoes with shoelaces, no phone chargers with long cables, no belts, no hoodies with strings. No shaving razors (this is going to hit me the hardest cause, you know, i hate facial hair for obvs reasons), etc.

But, it's going to be worth it.

Oh, I didn't have pain for that long.
I never needed to go to the doctor for an actual checkup for the last 42 months, but that streak will have to be broken because the pain has persisted for a week.

It might be a bit late in the day for your stay, but if they won't let you near a razor, even with supervision, (often they will let you use one of there is someone with you) see if they will let you bring hair removal cream in. I know someone with sensitive skin who uses it instead of a razor on the face and it does the job.

    Good luck sweets!
