    The Library at Mont Char.

Just go into it blind. I listen to audiobooks. This was an excellent audio book. It's not a series, and he hasn't written anything else.

I remember enjoying the series for the most part, but as I recall (it has been quite a while) it got weird as fuck towards the end.
Like, one dying woman's fetus being *magically* transported to another unconsulted woman's womb as part of the happy ending levels of weird. The whole series has this "from darkness to light" arc, as indicated in the titles, and it means light in a very Christian sense. I thought Weeks did a pretty solid job with the darker parts actually, ruthless kids living in street gangs and all that. Just, forewarning for two characters that are pretty much avatars of a madonna/whore complex, and also the power of love being a thing that is plot relevant.
If I was going to recommend something kinda similar feeling to the Lightbringer series, maybe Robin Hobb's Farseer books? Older series, but I'm working on A Cavern of Black Ice by J.V. Jones right now and liking it.

Thing Of My Weekend: Went to Silicon Valley Comic Con yesterday and got a bunch of cool art to decorate my place with when I move on Thursday. Passed on some beautiful metal prints of three of these guys because of the price, but I got back to my place and started regretting it. I haven't really spent a lot of money this summer, and my future financial prospects look good so I said fuck it and emailed asking if there was anyway I could meet them outside to get them (they were con-exclusives and I only got a 1 day pass).

Putting "Regret over not purchasing" in the subject line got their attention and they met me outside to get them and I have no regrets. It's a fucking beautiful set and I'm so excited to put them up.

Think my high score is 2348. On mobile so can’t look it up.

    Plus 202 is 2550. Divide by...857.
    2.975posts per day.

Hm..need to get that over three.

I’m proud of what I am.

I...am Lord of the Banned, bitch.

The Lies of Locke Lamora - Scott Lynch (assuming you haven't read it which is doubtful)
A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe - Alex White (space opera, but a helluva fun ride)
The Last Light of the Sun - Guy Gavriel Kay
Fionavar Tapestry - Guy Gavriel Kay (this one's a bit cookie cutter high fantasy, but I love the characters and the story)
Six of Crows - Leigh Bardugo
The Chronicles of Amber - Roger Zelazny

If you've never read The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett, it's the best fictional book I've ever read. The second and third books are very good as well, but the original is just a masterwork.

    Hence, DLP?

TOMD: I am super busy as well, and I'm going on leave at the end of the week and have a ton of stuff to finish before I go. It's stressful.

Yeah, applications opened on sunday. Came in to about 600 pages worth of transcripts to index. And unfortunately they aren't letting us get any comp time this week so i'm not allowed to stay late to knock it out. Meh.

It'lls be waiting for me in the morning. Trying not to think about it.

This was incorrect. It was 2398z

    So 2398+220= 2598. Divided by 858 is...3.02797203.

So basically 3 posts a day. @ScottPress Im aiming for you
