In the DC universe, Batman and Superman are usually set to be close in age, and have about the same amount of experience as heroes. They have their differences, but they are equals.

What if there is an age difference of 10+ years between the two?

Say Bruce Wayne is the older and started out first. Clark Kent would grow up hearing about the rumours of a crazy man dressed as a bat, fighting crime in Gotham. Would he be influenced by the Dark Knight's methods or ideology?

On the other hand, young Bruce Wayne may wish to be Superman, or rage at Superman because the greatest hero on earth couldn't be everywhere and save everyone - like his parents. Meanwhile, if Superman is weary of Batman's methods, he may be more vocally critical, as a more senior hero would towards a young newcomer.

Pushing further out - maybe tweak the dynamics of the Trinity as well: imagine both Batman and Superman being newbie heroes while Wonder Woman, the immortal warrior princess of Themyscira is the mentor figure. She's lived longer than the other two combined, both on the Island and in men's world.

How would this universe turn out, how much would change and how much would stay the same? What do you think?

Older Batman, younger Superman and immortal Wonder Woman is basically how they're in Batman v Superman. In New 52 the situation was similar with Batman working for a few years by the time Superman had his debut. The problem is that nobody ever bothered to explore such dynamics between these three characters. Once they meet the writers just assume that they're all equals in experience and focus on differences in their worldviews.

I suppose the point of the Trinity is to have them all on the same level, but having Wonder Woman mentor the other two would be an excellent Elseworld.
