    For a fandom that has been around for two decades and has nearly a million fics, that number is depressing to see. Though I'm not sure why you excluded "Fantasy" since that's pretty much the setting?

    Because its based on the genre tags on FFN. Go look at the garbage that's tagged fantasy and you'll know why. Most decent HP fic you might encounter is Gen./ Adventure

    That's mostly because no one really sets genre on a story they submit, other than people that also abuse the fuck out of the Ao3 tag system.
