She's always been a fairly talented writer, and when it comes down to it, being able to come up with interesting plots and characters is a hell of a lot more important than being able to type flawlessly. Both are nice, but I'll take the former over the latter.

 

This was fantastic. One of the most interesting characterizations of Harry I've seen lately. It's only a shame the story is so short.

Absolutely brilliant, reminded me of Rodney McKay gone bad to some extent. Sketching out dimensional theories during primary school is fun, and probably more challenging than building a nuclear weapon for a science project...

Loved it. I always liked something different and this new type of Harry looks really nice. I loved the scene with Snape. It was done beautifully. For that alone the fic deserves full marks. Add a bit of Dumbledore and Lupin bashing and you get a winner. Pity it is a one-shot though. Hoping to see more along these lines.

5/5. It's a shame this wasn't drawn out to an actual story, but I guess that some fics aren't meant for that.

 

That sums it up pretty well. Brilliant, IMO.

 

The best part of this story for me was Harry's sadistic curiosity and experimentation with Riddle's diary. My score of 3.5 was based on the general lack of "horror" under which this story was classified. Only having 2 real incidents of sadism just doesn't whet my appetite.

 

To be honest, it was more humorous for me than horrific. I suppose the ending is quite horrific, but without anything after that its just amusing.

I rarely say this to anything I review, but this earns a perfect score. The author seems to have corrected the spelling and grammatical errors the earlier posters pointed out, and the plot was delightful. When the 2008 DLP Fanfic Awards roll around, I plan to nominate this for best one-shot. 5/5

 

Amazing oneshot. 5/5 and I have to say my favorite part was the bogart. Very creative and something that doesnt get addressed much. And IBN I'l definitley vote for it.

 

I found this fic only yesterday whilst I was looking for Horror stories after reading a series of OneShots by ManicR. And I've got to agree- more MadScientist!Harry fics should exist and it's 5/5.

People seem to find it isn't Horror, but it depends on how you look at it. Horror isn't necessarily sadism- the summary hints at what kind of horror it is. Harry tries to discover what he can- to the point of abusing a being he know lives despite their plea. And then agreeing to Voldemorts offer 2 years later, can't you just imagine that Harry creating Hybrids, bring worlds to their knees as he brutally murders them to study their pyhsiolgy?

It's like the first Scream- the real horror coes fromt he reason as to of why they murder them.

PS: I'd reccomend Always Smiling to anybody who liked this, by the same author. It's not a genius Harry, and has him weild a sword, but it is just as good IMO.
