I was instantly creeped out by this. Namely because it reminds me of the Silent Hill movie.

Did you know people are actually still living inside the Zone? I thought it was zero population but some folks have started to go back and others havent left they just moved away from the reactors. Didnt know that until the other day when I started my top list crusade.

I've seen that place on TV before. It was pretty creepy. Parts of the ground cave in aswell. You highway just basically stops just as you get there with a detour thats been in place for ages. The main road had a HUGE part cave in and they actually filled it in and tarred over it because of how dangerous it was. Even though only a few people even live around in the random houses still around.

And that gas fire picture is fucking epic.

Apparently the writer for the Silent Hill movie used the town as inspiration for the movie. I dunno about the game, though.

I live within an hour or so of the area. It's really not much to look at just driving through, but it does make you wonder why anyone would want to stay there.

You're shitting me? Why on Earth would they want to live in such an irradiated area? It's a death sentence!

I was going to mention the Uzbekistan fire, my brother went there a few years ago and has some awesome pictures of it...

The other fire is really quite creepy. I think you'd have to be mad to stay living there though, but then again people live next to Pompeii and in LA.

If Silent Hill taught me anything, it's that these people probably burned a little girl to death at some point. Fucking run if your radio/tv/phone starts giving you bad feebback.
