Alright, after thinking to myself, 'how in the world will Harry ever find and destroy these Horcruxes when Dumbledore himself had trouble destroying one.' I thought to myself, maybe Harry won't have to find them. After awhile I thought of several ways that Harry doesn't have to find the Horcruxes.

    1. Dumbledore was wrong, and his soul was only split up into 3 parts(another magical number).

    2. This R.A.B has already found and destroyed all of them except for Riddle's Diary.

Yea, pathetic, when I actually gave this some thought.

I would hate to have Book Seven the way it is predicted by many, so I am trying to think of ideas that would make book seven decent regarding these Horcruxes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe that at least one other character will destroy a horcrux for him but no way is what you said sellable or logical. I honestly doubt Rowling would sink that low.

    - Harry performs a ritiual to locate/destroy all Horcruxes using his scar (thus, being the only one able to vanquish the Dark Lord).

    - Harry makes Voldemort believe he can do number 1 and watches as Voldemort runs all over the England in panic, gathering his Horcruxes and 'canceling' them, making his soul more or less complete again.

    - Voldemort had placed Dumbledore under some sort of mind control over the whole 6th year (place of infection - withered hand). He made sure to tie Harry up with pointless ploys (Draco the Dumbledore killer? Please), love interests (love potion and Ginny) and give him bunch of stupid, useless information (Horcruxes, power of love). When he made sure everything is achieved, he had his loyal servant kill the puppet and leave Harry vulnerable and alone once the blood wards finally expire.

    - Harry drinks Felix potion and each of the pieces is destroyed in a freak accident.

    Regards to MS's response:

maybe not, but I feel like I would enjoy reading about the quick disposal of The Hocruxes, so J.K Rowling can actually create a realistic way for Voldemort to go down, even if it has to involve around the idea of love being his power.

    Regards to ip82's Response:

I think I like the last suggestion the best, even if it would make an excellent humor fic. I dispise many mentions of Harry's scar doing something other than being a pain in the ass, so the first and second suggestions are uninteresting to me.

The third one...the third one made me laugh.

You don't already worship this forum! o.0 BLASPHEMY!!!

IP, you are brilliant. I could have never thought up any of those ideas. I personally think the third fourth one is the best.:) Jaded is right, if this book is a fucking scavanger hunt I'm going to be pissed.

The luck potion is the most feasible, given Canon Harry's skill level. It also sounds much more entertaining than a scavenger hunt.

    Pretty much.

The thing is, Harry doesnt have to start from scratch. Dumbledore has collected all the information Harry needs. Now Harry just needs to use it, just what Dumbledore was starting to do. He found the location of the Ring and Locket - Even if the locket was fake - in one-to-two years with the information he had gathered in the many years before hand. Harry pretty much knows what they all are apart from one, maybe two, and he knows Voldemort likes to hide them in special locations.

Gaunts house was one, as well as the cave. The Diary wasnt hidden, other than in plain sight, so that doesnt count. I gather one will be within Hogwarts if he was able to get one inside. The Orphanage is another probable place. Godric Hollow is another if it is true he made another one after his rebirth, or Harry will find the artifact Voldemort was going to use after Harry's death as a baby at that location.

See, it's not really hard when you have the information. It'll take time, and it will take the whole book because we just know it'll be used to make it longer, but if it isnt, then its still believable to find them fast. They have the information, now they just need to use it.

There is only really one or two they'll have to really work at to find, and maybe not if they have more special 'Voldemort' locations to check out.

I wouldn't be surprised if the book begins in some sort of timeskip... because I'm sure she wouldn't let Harry waltz up in the battle dodging curses and throwing around stupefy (or so I hope).

To use a time skip would seriously muck up her normal style, and would seriously piss off the majority of fans, who have no imagination and would want to know exactly what he was doing during that time. It would also produce a hell of a lot of seriously sub standard fanfiction.

If it does use a time skip, I personally would be happy, cause I kinda like time travel. It is about the only realistic way for her to be able to kill Voldemort.

Though I do have to wonder about the luck potion, to me it seems that, while it was a good plot device in HBP (if a bit deus ex machina in nature), she was introducing it for a bigger role. Think about how it was used. And how its limitations were carefully explained. To me this makes it seem like it will turn out to be quite major. Like how Flitwick explained how important incantations are in PS, and incantations being pronounced correctly has had its moments throughout the series.

In HBP JKR introduces the love potion at the same time as she introduces the luck potion. To me this shows that it will be used. The 3 other potions mentioned (truth, polyjuice and luck) have all been used to great effect at various times throughout the series. Love is only one not brought up again or before. So I would think it will be brought up in book 7. As well as this, you are told 2 way to recognise it in the book. To me this says that at some point there will be a clue about the potion, and we will have to remember how to recognise it, ie the mother-of-peril sheen, and the spirals of steam (which is actually inaccurate since steam is invisible).

What do you all think. (woohoo, I typed this whole post without glancing at the keyboard, and its possibly the best typed message I have ever posted here. How sad! And pity me, I looked up those potions in HBP, I had to read parts of it. ~winces~)

I think thats is kind of neat, and also kind of strange that no one has thought of that before. The fact that the Love potion hasn't been used and also the small fact that Love is unfortunately the power Harry has...hmm...interesting...

If you are daring to sugest that Harry will use the love potion on Voldemort, then you need a serious slapping!

Maybe Harry takes it and it somehow boosts his power because it is based off love!

I would be very, very displeased if that happened.

The luck potion will be used but he will run out before the end, as for the love potion it is an idea it can be used and if it is then it won't work as it's not TRUE love.
personally i think it will be a scavenger hunt they will go back to hogwarts for research, and they will leave every so often to find them and battle against the trap's protecting the horcrux's like in SS when getting past those trap's protecting the stone, could dumbledore have known about them and has already trained harry that way ,
    1 - trap's in SS
2 - searching for the COS
3 - solving the puzzle's and getting past the challenges in GOF
4 - the battle in the dom with death eater's
5 - getting info out of slughorn ( memory )

as for his training he may have gotten it but has been memory charmed to forget until it is the right time like when turn's 17

Pfft, as if. Harry would use the luck potion to score up some chicks then use the love potion on them thus creating a harem army! He would then use the power of love, aka his harem army and destroy Voldemort by embarrassing the hell out of him/it Naruto Style. Or increase his powers a million fold blowing away Voldemort by his sheer power and making him wet his pants, trip and crack his neck which coincidentally the luck potion was still in effect all this time. :wall:

Personally, if I made a Horcrux, it'd be something simple like a pebble. Then I'd throw it into a junkyard or something. Think of it. You'd never be able to die, because no one would find the Horcrux. Who'd honestly think, "Hmm, a pebble. Must be a Horcrux."

It would erode eventualy, that would be the problem. Anyway, it doesn't stop you dying, it means your shade deosn't leave the earth. YOu have to do wierd and complicated dark rituals with the help of others to come back completely.
