Hey guys, just a quick question to you all, how many of you use the 'New Posts' button to get a list of all recently updated threads?

I've used it exactly once, to see what the hell it did. Seemed mostly extraneous to me.

New Posts is actually the only way I browse on here.

I don't use it, not going to start either. Prefer to read through the entire index on my own.

    New Posts.

If I want to go back to something I missed, Quick Links -> Today's Posts.

It's pretty much the only way I access the DLP.

I don't use new posts. I almost always go to patronuscharm first though, exclusively for the latest posts on forums section, never to read anything on it.

... that's basically what New Posts is for, except it also lets you know at a glance which threads you've posted in.

New Posts is also the only way I check DLP. I rarely ever look at the forum by subforums, except when searching for a specific thread.

This is exactly how I go about it. In fact, my DLP bookmark *is* the New Posts link. The only time I go to the index or whatever is when I have to log back in, such as when I go to DLP thru a Tor connection and can't have stayed logged in.

I only use the New post function, there are to many sub forums on DLP to browse any other way.

I just use UserCP for subscribed threads, and at a glance if I see something on the main page that looks interesting, I'll read that. Used to use New Posts all the time, but not so much anymore.

Nope, I do it the manual way. Part of that is because I don't follow all the sub-boards, and part because of silly tradition (it's what I've always done on forums I read regularly; I like the aesthetics of it, or something equally goofy).

(edit) Now, the buttons for seeing the newest posts in the individual threads? Those are the shit. Couldn't live without 'em.

Let me phrase it this way - this is how my DLP bookmark looks like:

It's literally the only way I access DLP. (Ctrl+t,g,ArrowDown,Enter)

This is also why I've been whining about HP For Review and For Review for other fandoms being indistinguishable when some retard forgets to tag the topic.

    Pretty much this.
Never noticed the "New Posts" before I did a ctrl f for it. :facepalm

There's also the mark thread/forum as read button which I keep forgetting about.

Maybe there could be a brief User's manual incorporated into the Welcome PM?

I'm one of those new posts users. As others have said, I literally only use it and pretty much nothing else. It makes browsing subforums pretty much extraneous. In a good way.
