Okay, I don't know if anyone has or hasn't heard of this, but the name of the Nintendo Revolution was changed to the Nintendo Wii, pronounced we. Who thinks the name is good and who thinks that it sucks? I personally think that it is a good name, much better than some names in the past, like Gizmondo.

 

And you can say "I'm going to go and play with my wii," and no one will call you a pervert or something of that sort.

 

Utterly stupid name. Then again in my opinion, the console won't be worth piss, so it may as well be named it.

Nintendo's too far out of touch with reality, and picking such a stupid name doesn't exactly seem sane.

 

Wii?!?!? What the hell? That has to be one of the stupidest names I've ever heard. What happened to Revolution? There was nothing wrong with that. Methinks that people at Nitendo smoking a VERY special pipe.

I gave up on Nintendo a long time ago, they could have called this console The Orgasmatron and I would have give a shit. To me Nintendo = waste of well earned cash.

 

3 posts bashing the name and yet only two people voted bad. I heard it was just a rumor to piss off fan boys. Then again the N64 was called something cool before they changed it to "Nintendo 64". I liked "Revolution"

 

a short and simple name to say. doesn't matter what a console is called just as long as it has goood games.

 

I just see french snobs saying it instead of "Yes" even when talking in English.

That, and it makes me think WiFi should now be pronounced "wee-fee".

Though if there's a decent ad campaign with people having fun yelled "Wheeeeeeeee!" I think I'll forgive them calling their console another name for urine or an unappetizing piece of anatomy.

 

Well, also, when you think about it, the publicity that the name has been getting from people saying the name sucks on forums everywhere may just get the attention of non-gamers, which is a goal of Nintendo.

Oh, and Midknight? You say=id in another thread that you liked playing FPSs with a mouse, not a controller, right? The functionality of the Wii will be able to do just that. You do know that certain fact, right?

 

Yes I'm aware of the retarded remote controller looking gamepad can do that.

No thanks, after seeing the graphics on even the xbox 360, I'll still choose my PC over consoles for FPS anyday.

Not to mention Nintendo hasn't been able to make a game I've gave a flying crap about since the original Pokemon, and that was only because my kids loved the show, and the games.

Goldeneye, Super Mario Kart, for the N64 where among the only decent games for that console, we're about to be 2 generations away from that, and Nintendo just isn't smart enough to admit defeat yet. Ah well, maybe they'll make some more ultra cutesy cell shaded games for the 5 ppl that want to play with their Wii's

 

Iono Mid.... I can't wait till they get Mario Party on that thing. I can already imagine myself whacking the controller off trying to get Yoshi to climb a ladder.

It's a truly idiotic name. Perhaps they asked a child what it should be called or something? Then again I don't give two shits about nintendo anymore so they can call it "Cum" for all I care.

 

Terrible name... REvolution is a better name a bit bland but better.

Hey want to play with my Wii. I got five new games for my Wii. Want to try them at my sleepover, together, alone, at night.

My games for my Wii are 10 and up.

One of them is mature.

The analog stick is a little stiff sometimes. Hard to move with

I had to get my Wii replaced because it was malfunctioning, its a good thing it was still under warranty.
