Somewhat amusing to see Geralt much closer to being a snacc than the borderline monster that he is in the books. There's something about his face that just doesn't gel with my imagination; all photos look fine except the full frontal one where he's holding the sword - I think a short beard would look better. It's a significant improvement over the original look nonetheless, which was just roflmao.

Yen and Ciri... well, it's not great but it's not all that bad either. Yen needs some more of the casual arrogance with just a hint of contempt on her face IMO. At least it's not black Ciri, which breaks like, half the story. Ironically enough, I think the 'black' Anna Shaffer as Triss will fit best out of what we've seen so far.

Trailer dropped for this and dear God, they actually went with those ugly looking pieces of shits as armor.

And that actress they cast as Yennefer most certainly does not look fit for the role.

The comments I read are quite positive, making me feel bad when I consider it a very 'meh' trailer. There is almost nothing unique in it to make it feel as something better than another generic fantasy show.

I'm excited for it personally. Was meh on it before, but that trailer looks good imo.

Cavill looks great as Geralt. Gonna take it as it's own thing and it should be great. :)

I don't like Cavill (especially his face) at all as Geralt, but I suppose I'm... very, very, very tentatively positive? I mean, it looks watchable. I'm expecting like a 6.5/10 though.

Mostly it just made me want to play Witcher 3 again.

It looks fun. I was expecting something a little higher budget, but that scene at the end gave me hope.

Also, three cheers for Hunchback Yen.

Ok, I was cautiously optimistic on this before, but the trailer is actually pretty hype. I'm definitely looking forward to this now.

First impression: a bit mixed. Visuals range from great to muddy. Some exterior shots relied too much on CGI. Geralt's scenes in ep 1 seemed directionless until the end of the episode. The world gives a kind of... austere impression. Contrast this with GOT, where the world felt alive and full.

I give them huge props for the fight scene though (you'll know which one when you see it). Where GOT went for realism (well, in the good seasons), Witcher leans hard into fantasy. Well-deployed slowmo, the fighting is more medieval Matrix, with all the improbably precise, slick-looking moves, which really sells Geralt as a superhuman warrior imo. I rewatched the fight scene 3 times in a row, well fucking done. Although this still falls into the trope where a superhuman badass casually turns people into minced meat and the other guys come at him one at a time, so enjoyment depends on your tolerance for this.

    Two Episodes in.

Henry Cavill is embodying a younger Geralt. He has nailed the mannerisms and the voice so well. Great Casting choice.

The show is really good so far.

But don't go in expecting Game of Thrones. This isn't a political intrigue story. It's a fantasy adventure. And it does that exceedingly well imo.

Does Cavill still keeps his chin forward like a retard in episode 2?

My first impressions of Yennifer, Triss, and Vilgefortz is honestly just a feeling of disappointment. They have such strong characters in the books and thus far they feel like pale imitations (Episode #1). That entire rendition of the battle for Sodden Hill was a flaming mess. lul at Fringilla's entire character.

Book spoilers -- Time of Contempt
Vilgefortz losing to Cahir is the biggest crop of shit I've ever seen. This badass motherfucker bested Geralt in single combat without breaking a sweat, utterly humiliating and crippling him. He shouldn't be losing and looking like a chump.

Edit: keeping this because I'm a retard. But, I managed to watch episode 8 first.
