♫ It's the most writerful time of the year
    With the writers typing
And readers reviewing "update soon my dear"
It's the most writerful time of the year

It's the most productive season of all
    With those hidden meanings
And happy feelings when readers are enthralled
It's the most productive season of all

    There'll be wordsmiths for writing
    friends for confiding
And editors to help you show
    There'll be hard times
    And thousands of lines
Of scenes imagined long, long ago

It's the most writerful time of the year
    There'll be much rejoicing
    and muse overflowing
And hearts will be glowing when the ending is near
It's the most writerful time of the year

    It's the most writerful time
    It's the most writerful time
It's the most writerful time of the year ♫

    2022 Writing Goals!

Let us look back at our previous writing goals (if you are rejoining us this year) and see what you have accomplished! Or, for those who fell off the bandwagon (like myself), what could we do differently this year to help us towards success.

After you have gone over your old writing goals, come up with goals for 2022. For your own sanity, I suggest having a few goals, some easier than others. You want to be able to look back over the months and see the progress you've made and the goals you've hit. This will help motivate you rather than stress you out.

    Some good goals are:
    - What is the bare minimum word count you wish to hit?
    - How many days in a row do you want to write without stopping?
    - A story you wish to finish, or certain chapters?
    - Want to enter a DLP competition.
    - etc, etc.

For example, my goals for 2021 were the following:
    - Get back into writing. It has been months since I've written anything at all.
    - Enter at least one DLP competition. I don't even need to win, just enter something.
    - Finish chapter one of my Dresden Files fic.
    - Finish my short story in my Ottoman-Harry fic.
    - Make good progress in my Ottoman-Harry fic. Half way perhaps?
    - Stop procrasinating so much when I start writing. Even if it sucks, write some words every other day.

I utterly failed most my writing goals, but this was largely due to some massive life changes that wreaked me, in addition to getting placed on ADHD medicines that have limited my creativity. As this will be another busy year with more life changes, I am going to give myself smaller and more workable goals.

    - Get back into writing. 1000 words a week.
    - Publish something. I have a ton of half done oneshots and stories. This could be for a DLP competition or outside of it. Just publish something.
    - Work on my main unpublished fic: The Subtle Darkness.
    - Get on better meds or find a way to be both creative and productive. Plz. Just Plz.

My writing goals, starting with the easiest and ending with the hardest:

    - I want to maintain my weekly update rate.
    - I want to write at least 7000 words per week.
    - I want to grow my trio of quests into something that people across the fandoms can point to and go, "That was some real fire shit man.".
    - I want to avoid the assessment season mood that sees my writing rate plummet.
    - I'm going to finish my children's story and submit it to publishers.
    - I want to get my writing to the stage that I can support myself with it.

    Short to long term goals:

-Write an entry for the flash competition
-Get to a point where writing is something I can do intentionally and not something that takes me sometimes with zero predictability
-Upload the second chapter of my story I haven't touched since last to last year
    -Start writing out said story
-Get a benchmark on my writing after I have something tangible and start working on improvements in quality

    7-10k a week.

My main goal is to wrap as many of my on-going fanfics as possible and then to get started on an original story.

I'm going to aim at doing at least some 300 words a day.

-Ideally, I'd like to hit 50k this year, realistically just 20k is my minimum goal
-Consistently a few days a week
    - I'd like to just post a story
    - Definitely enter a dlp comp, I haven't entered any so far

This year, going to just go with a bare minimum goal of writing 3x a week consistently.

Yeah... I totally didn't keep active with this and alert others, nor post statuses of success. My bad!

This is the final results of the 2022 writing sessions.

    upload_2023-1-2_21-25-17.png

Once again, @Silirt dominates with almost a million words in a year. Just insanity. @TheWiseTomato, @Dark Syaoran and @Anarchy all have great word counts as well, and have been active for the entire year. Very impressive!

Now let us jump to the new year, and to the new thread.
