Universe sounds like a Voyager copy. Needless to say, rather lame. The fact that they're going to aim it at a younger audience sucks too.

Makes me wonder why TV companies don't start pitching to foreign netwokrs instead of US ones and letting them pick up the pieces. So many good shows axed.

Atlantis was apparently picking up an extra 30% of its rating on DVR recordings, but Sci Fi doesn't count those. They should pitch to Sky One - Stargate is much larger over here and they'd probably pay a lot to get the exclusive series.

As soon as I saw "Unable to return back to Earth" I lol'd. Extreme faggotry, modeling it after Voyager.

Meh. I liked Atlantis while it lasted, but I don't mind it being canceled. The series will still be available... elsewhere.

Atlantis lasted longer than Farscape. Something is wrong with that, in my opinion. :(

    This bum's me out...
Stargate atlantis was just starting to get awesome.

It started out rough but it was really getting good.

I really hate that this is what they assigned the 9th chevron to.
    It seems so random.

I just hope they learn from their mistakes and don't make the new cast deal with primitive society's all the time. every now and then is fine. No one cares about the traditions and integrity of some mud bath village who are suddenly persecuted by the major villain.

That and I hope they don't make this The OC in space. That would kill the series for me. When I hear them say they're targeting younger audiences I immiedietly cringe with fear.

I could never get into blood ties...

But shows like John doe, futurama, Farscape... they were axed way too early.

Although peace keeper wars was awesome.

Damn, I actually started preferring Stargate Atlantis once Richard Dean Anderson left. It had a good run though, and Sky One will be doing reruns for the next ten years or so, so I'll be able to get my daily fix without problem :p.

This new one just seems like a Star Trek rip off, which I could never really get into anyway >_>.

    I completely agree.

    -insert FarscapeisbetterthanStargate rant-

Most disappointing news of my childhood, really, Farscape's cancellation.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is what they mean to do with Stargate... make a spin off series, cancel the first one, then make another spin of series, and repeat.

I'm not too bothered about this though. I still watch Atlantis, sure, but I stopped getting excited about it a while ago. It just seemed like there was never any variation in the plots, and if there ever was, they were stealing it from earlier Sg-1 episodes.

So... How is this going to be anything like Stargate if they can't just gate home?

Well to be fair, thats how atlantis started out. Then they remedied it...

It all depends on the team that travels to the ship I suppose.

If its on purpose, and accident. Are they trained, how many will there be...

I keep thinking it could be like deep water black in a way.

Or maybe that old childrens show, Space Cases.

Interesting factoid: Girl who's playing the current doctor on atlantis and was on serenity/firelfy as the engeneer was on that show.

Knew I'd seen her somewhere! I'm surprised I didn't notice earlier actually.

Also, Stargate took on shit loads of people from Farscape and the likes, so it's no wonder that there is one from Firefly.

Factoid #2: The girl who played Adria (Vala's hot Ori-goddess daughter) played the "Companion" (hot damn she's sexy) in the Firefly series. I haven't actually watched Serenity yet, but I plan to. I loved the Firefly series (I just watched the entire DVD set a few days ago...yes, I am behind the times), and am severly disappointed that they canceled it.

I shall watch the first few episodes (if I get them on my shitty broadcast TV), and then decide if they screwed the pooch - for the third time.
