Well, with all the forays into sig making, I decided to try my own hand at it. These are what I came up with:

This is the first one I did, using a tutorial I found at anime ark. I did everything full size then scaled it down, so that's why the text's squashed.

This one was also done full size, but the text was done after transforming it.

    I tried Jon's tutorial here.

This is my most recent work, I mainly experimented here, but I used Jon's brushes.

Your text needs a lot of work. In some cases, it's too small and in others it's too hard to see.

Unless you were trying to do that in the first place...

Nope, I wasn't really aiming for that. I just didn't want the text to detract from the sig but I guess I over did it. I'll make them more visible from now on.

When you want text to be secondary the best course is usually to set it to softlight/overlay and in cases where that won't do simply decreasing the opacity.

Ohh that second one is superb! First one is awesome too but the font distracts from it a bit.

^I used a lot of the same effects for this one and the one I attempted to do for Midknight.

EDIT: Totally forgot about this one:

The first and third ones are perfect. In the second one Gambit seems to be looking through a small window in the fog, so I suggest you grade the 'blurring' a bit more gently from the edges up to his face.
Unless of course that was your intention, otherwise excellent work!

Start learning how to blend the renders in and you'll be pretty much ready to start experimenting like a drunken teen at a party. :p
