Been out for a while, I downloaded a shitty audio book version maybe a month ago because none of the stores near me had it in stock. It was fairly good, for a children book you got a fairly in depth story line.

Artemis/Holly - Bestiality alert!

So much better than book 5. Still, it kinda sucked. He has a fetish for re-introducing the same gorram villain with even numbered releases. Book 2, 4 and now 6.

But yeah, I'll be buying this. I love his writing, even when it sucks. His style has a juvenile magic to it that I really dig.

 

Colfer just seems to draw me in, Don't know why, But I have liked everyone of his books I've read. And I will be sure to get this.

 

I'm a bit of an Eoin Colfer virgin, so it took me a while to source and get into some of his books.

When Artemis Fowl first came out,there was a lot of talk of comparing it to a futuristic Harry Potter which put me off for ages.

The first book I actually read was 'The Supernaturalist' which led me onto the Artemis Fowl series.

I can honestly say that when I started reading them I wasn't disappointed .

This one definitely deserves a look.

As for covers, I prefer the green in the U.S version but the overall look of the U.K cover is much better.

 

<--Colfer fanboy. He spoke at my book store once, fucking hilarious guy. Came off as very genuine.

His writing isn't brilliant but it has that X factor that draws you into his world.

Artemis went to all the trouble to steal magic from the Faries in the last book, only to loose it in the very first chapter of this one. That pissed me off royal.

From this point on, anyone who hasn't read the book fuck off. I don't want the entire conversation to be in spoiler tags.

What did you think of the whole Holly/Artemis thing? Also Opal was funny as hell.

 

I've met him twice and you're right. He's awesome. He actually did a presentation and book signing the night of the release of Time Paradox about 15 minutes from my house. He has the most fucking awesome stories ever.

 

Huh, for some reason when I saw this I thought Arty had shot Ocelot. Oh well, I guess I'll have to get this some time.

 

Meh, for some reason I didn't like Time Paradox that much. Artemis vs Artemis just wasn't very good. In the previous one he managed to make the genius v genius work by making them both actually smart, but here I felt they both seemed a bit slow. And he didn't deal with the actual time paradox very well; seemed like there were some plot holes, but then I didn't actually spend time going through the time travel thing since it didn't seem like he spent too much time making it work.
