I've spent a week or two looking through FF.net and patronus charm for some goodNon-Human Harry fics and most of the ones listed here that I have been found are either a) one shots or b) abandoned, does anyone know about some good Non-human(ie werewolf, vampire) that have actually have a good and an at least SLIGHTLY original plot line? And is NOT not an excuse for Harry to go all emo or to get paired up with some random male character.

 

Here's one that's readable (but not great--probably not Library quality) that has Harry turning into a vampire: Harry Potter and the Rune of Alacantera. I think it's HP/OFC, where the romantic interest is Snape's half-vampire daughter.

Perspicacity, Snape's daughter is quite a turn-off. It's Snape, it's not supposed to breed.

Sorry but normally creature harry = slash, which is mostly pairing with draco, voldemort or another equally unlikely person.

There are a few good vampire Harry fics where there is not any slash, but they are rare.

this one starts out after Dumbledore's funeral and ends up with Dryad!Harry. Decent, but it needs an update.

 

I'm trying to write one, but I'm slow at it and the updates certainly aren't frequent. The original has 9 chapters If I remember correctly, but it was so bad that I had to rewrite it, and it still isn't that great either.

I'm not, by any means, a good writer, but as I write the story I try to avoid clichés and common mistakes. It's a crossover with VtM.

Back on the request, though, when I started reading HP Fanfiction, I remember stumbling upon a fic in which Harry was bitten by a Vampire during the attack at Godric's Hollow just before Voldemort's demise, his parents abandoned him for being a "dark-creature" and he was adopted by Remus as his son, named Ryan Lupin, or some shit like that.

It was fairly funny and well written, and it had some great lines, but I believe it was H/G, of the bad kind, barely tolerable.

It also had a prequel, much better if I recall correctly, that made a decent, solid story as a stand-alone.

Yeah, I remember that, too. It was ok, but had the same problem as most humor fics. At one point it becomes repetitive.

I saw a few other fics, but nothing spectacular. Usually Vampire!Harry or Veela!Harry, more often than not written by slash fangirls (Harry is a _____ and guess who is his mate).
