Empire magazine published a list of "the best 100 movie characters". Not a bad list IMO, actually, and I'm somewhat surprised by the character who ranked first.

    Here the List

Good list, but there were one or two I was surprised to not see in there.

Mark Renton for one. Mad Max. William Wallace.

    Very good list though.

Radcliffe has fit his role as far as casting goes, same with Luna, and the original guy playing Dumbledore.

    Addendum: American.

Been meaning to see Amelie for ages. And Leon. But sadly, no seeders for the latter.

Re: Fight Club. I never saw the film, just read the book, which was, like most of Palahniuk's novels, brilliant.

I remember exactly where I was when I read it. My wife was in labor and I toggled between reading Fight Club and speed-reading a couple of early child care books. My little brother got married that day. Most surreal.

Edit: Nice to see Han Solo coming in #4. When I was seven, I wanted to be Han Solo so bad I could taste it. I wheedled the parents for two months and traded away all my gifts for the Han Solo action figure and the Millenium Falcon. Luke was for pussies. Real men (and by "men," I mean prepubescent, somewhat precocious third graders who resonate with the man's dry sarcasm and devil-may-care attitude) role play Han. Glad he got to bang Leia in the end.

    Agreed.

D: The Joker got Number 3.

I'm not to upset about number one, just I don't like the Brad Pitt. I want him to die in a flaming sack attack.

Not sure why Han Solo was up there. Definitely agree with most of it though.
