As the title says I am having a problem clearing the DNS on this computer.

The internet works fine but after about 5+ minutes of use it will just stop, this is fixed by me going to the local area connection and hitting repair, repair runs through eveything fine except for the last stage; clearing the DNS. This computer is running windoes xp home edtion service pack 2. Processor is a P4 clocked at 2.5 ghz, 512 mb ram.

What I have tried so far:

Restarting and resetting both the computer and the router.

Setting a static DNS, primary and seconday.

Flushing DNS using ipconfig /flushDNS (this command worked no errors, internet still cuts out, repair still won't work)

    Stopping/restarting DNS servers in services.msc

Obviously none of this works. Any help is appreciated. I have 2 other laptops working both wired and wirelessly on the same network and they work fine. I know I could probably fix this with a fresh install of windows, but I'd rather get it fixed without doing that

it's ipconfig /flushdns with no space. Maybe that's your problem?

Nope, I tried that. The command ran through but no luck.

I am doing a system restore right now, hopefully that will fix it. Edit: Nope, the restore ran through but when I restarted windows in normal mode It gave a error saying that the restore could not be completed.
