Wow, this movie looks like it's going to be good! I love how they take these children-like themes and turn it into something dark and distorted that the rest of us can enjoy. I'm excited to see another movie with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter; Sweeney Todd was wonderfully twisted. Did you see all the pictures of them? Depp looks absolutely disturbed and if it weren't for her name at the top, I wouldn't have even recognized Carter. Alan Rickman is going to be the Caterpillar! I have to see this movie!

Reminds me of American McGee's Alice. Wasn't that supposed to be a movie too?

This, I cant wait for, looks like they are really going for it, even just to see Stephan Fry as the Cheshire cat. :)

This looks like it's going to have fantastic visuals even if it sucks.

Depp is flat-out creepy. Is it just me, or does he look exactly like Elijah Wood in that pic?

Can't wait, Tim Burton is a genius. I wish somebody would do Through the Looking Glass for once instead of remaking Alice in Wonderland over and over again,

After watching several of his movies, I can't help but think Tim Burton would be perfect for the job of directing the two Deathly Hallows movies. The morbid genius displayed in Sweeney Todd and Corpse Bride - as well as many other movies - would be perfect for the horcruxes and the scene where Nagini pops out of Batilda Bagshot's dead body. Also, Snape's death, Voldemort flying, and Malfoy Manor. Death is prevalent in the seventh book and Tim Burton is one whose imagination knows no boundaries when it comes to dark themes.

Anyway, I just wanted to know what you guys thought on the matter. ;)

I will fuck the shit out of you, faggot. This is nothing like McGee's Alice. >_>

But yes, Alice is getting a movie and a sequel.

    That said...

This is going to fail. Depp as the hatter, ALAN RICKMAN as the fucking Caterpillar... And Digitally blowing Bonham Carter's head up to three times the normal size.. :/

The only characters that look reasonable are Alice and The White Queen. :/

    I predict fail.

Did anyone see the SyFy Alice? It seems to have the same basic story.

The Hatter seems to be a central character now.
From the Disney version he only appeared at the tea party didnt he. And now he turns into a resistance fighter.
I still have to finish those books. Might help understand the characters better.

I found the syfy one surprisingly good, although I think it was the Hatters performance that carried the rest of it.

Yup. I thought he was the only one that was tolerable. I hated the girl who played Alice. But for the most part the show was pretty good.

    Seems interesting.
When I first heard about this I also thought it was another adaptation from the original, but this appears to be some sort of sequel to Lewis Carroll's work.

I remember being traumatised by the Cheshire Cat. Disney version isn't the original though, and I doubt the Adventures in Wonderland gave you nightmares.

Yea, because a kid cant be scared of a Queen who cuts off heads.
Or even the Walrus that ate an entire family.
There are alot of moments in that movie that could scare a kid.

The Walrus is in Through the Looking Glass, and I think they explicitly say that the Queen never actually gets anyone beheaded. I was mostly refering to the tone though, the way it's writen softens the actual event I think. You might as well say falling endlessly would be scary, except it isn't.

The Disney movie is pretty scary, I agree.

Go to the theaters and watch the trailer for Alice in Wonderland in 3D. The Cheshire Cat scared the shit out of me. I cannot wait for this movie to come out.
