challange: after the end of canon 5th year ??? visits harry and gives him a special time turner that allows him to travel back to a specific point and place in time and allow you to alter one thing you did, instead of makeing a double of the person it makes it so you take over your body in that time period then after you change soemthign it send you back to the time you came from with alterations and retaining memorys from both timelines.

you cannot make the bad thing that happends each time to be completely obvious. ( such as you cant have harry go back and save his parrents then have them die immediatly after going back to normal time)

Harry and voldemort must BOTH die in the end.

harry cant go to a time or place where he wasnt there such as he cant go back to his parrents days in hogworts or see the founders.

 

Saving parents is already done in this manner - "The time of best intentions".

As for what he could do, there are lots of possibilities, but not many that are not already covered by various AUs (Harry sorted in different house, go to different school, etc...). It can be something like steal the PS for himself or prevent Pettigrew's escape in 3rd year... yeah that could work.

But once again, I don't see what can you do with this one that you can't do with AU.

I'd like this a lot better if Harry had no idea what was going on (ie he didn't retain any memories). So, he's mucking around with this time thingie or whatever and suddenly he screws the world over. That could be humerus. Also, the point of 'someone' giving him this "special time turner" is pretty lame. The 'alteration' would need some thought - that would be what could make the story original.

Definitely has potential, but.
