Holy crap, another picture of a guy in a Hat and Coat holding a staff against against a backdrop that does not appear in the story.

The best Dresden covers are the international paperback covers IMO, if it weren't for the time it takes to come out thats all I would buy.

Is it just me or does he look significantly older in that picture? Maybe he's being serious when he keeps mentioning how old he feels.

EDIT: Upon closer examination, not really. Mine eyes deceive me.

I went to McGrath's site to see if I could get the larger version, but all he has up at this point is a thumbnail. I suppose I'll just have to wait.

Well, Mayan temple in the background so we might be headed to South America, not surprising. The Johnny Depp style hair curl is not cool, though.

Just use imagezoom if you have firefox, or your built in windows magnifier. The haircut looks stupid, he's got to be going to South America or Mexico.

Would make sense, given that Susan was working in South America (iirc).

Considering the only bit of Changes written so far is a phone call to Harry from Susan with the words "They've taken our daughter", I think it's safe to say he's going to South America.

Maybe the White Council manages to assault the Red Court stronghold?

"Think Buffy the Vampire slayer starring Philip Marlowe." - Entertainment Weekly.

I think so, at least, it resembles the Turncoat text. Closer inspection shows some letters are familiar.

To speculate about a possible plot point in Changes (and to later point here and say 'told you so'):

How does Harry get to South America?
A plane is not likely, he will probably has to be very fast, so the Nevernever?

And there is always something happening when Harry uses the Nevernever to get somewhere...

    Just an idea *shrug*

Using the Nevernever to get to the heart of Red Court territory would be a monumentally stupid decision, I would think. Especially if this is a trap.

hmm, I must say, I am still most excited about the change in symmetry with the titles. Every title until now, has held two words, both the same amount of letters long. Changes have occurred though!

Can't wait until around april which is when I presume it will be released.

Going to South America could be interesting. Only real thing that I'm concerned about, is that I hate Susan, and I really really hope that we don't see too much of her. Or he pulls some amazing characterization out of his ass for her. SOmething like that. :p

Yet we all know that Dresden is capable of making stupid things when his friends or kids are a part of the equation... Besides I think that it is impossible to set traps on all the ways leading to South America/Red Court territory. The fastest or most commonly used, sure, but not all of them.

As to the cover itself, I think that a change of scenery would be nice.

You realise the Red Court has masses of minions at its disposal plus the power of the Black Council at its back to protect the passages, right?

The Black Council is not necessarily working with the Red Court. From all that we've seen, the Black Council is simply working against the White Council.

And no matter how many minions they have, it's impossible to cover every entry to/from the Nevernever. Especially since they're in different places for each individual. If memory serves, two different people opening a portal in the same place in the real world will lead to two very different places in the Nevernever.

I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. Easy passages into the Nevernever are basically where the conditions in a certain place on Earth are symbolically linked to a specific point in the Nevernever. It's how Dresden and the crew got to Arctis Tor through an abandoned theatre, if it worked as you said it does then a portal opened by Dresden would end up in a completely different place to a portal opened by Lily (as it was, iirc).

Secondly, the Black Council has been implied to be behind the 'mindless' attacks of Red Court vampires, as if they were no more than thralls, as well as the summoning of Outsiders on the vampires' side (because only humans can summon them).
