If I see Spider-Man wearing Mickey Mouse ears, I will find Walt Disney's frozen head and piss in it.

As I was never much of a comic reader, I can't really give input on that area of the deal. However, Disney does do movies rather well, and I feel that the rather significant budget increase that is sure to come, can only benefit Marvels movies. So, overall, I support this.

I feel something ominous. As though we just don't know how horrible this is yet.

Somehow, I can see a major cartoon crossover between Mickey Mouse and the X-Men.

    It's not pleasant.

Oh-- god-- this has S-U-C-K all over it. Disney, known industry wide for its brilliant business decisions, yanno, like selling Pixar, and building Euro-Disney.

I was so looking forward to Thor, the Avengers movies too. Sigh.

As long as there aren't universe crossovers, I don't see a major problem with it.

As soon as I read this I had a horrible, scarring mental image of spiderman crossed with something dire like highschool musical. Made me die a little inside.

But Disney can do some good films, as long as they don't try and put some cheesy teenage musical spin on it and cock everything up. I'm happy, well at least until I see the films.

Well, we can always hope they'll just keep their hands out of it... <.< >.> Just throw money at it and let the Marvel people do their jobs. I don't think they'd scrap Thor or the Avengers movies--those wheels are already rolling.

My thoughts were more, "We don't like the way this movie promotes (blah blah blah) lets make it more pre-teen friendly!"

I am not that big into comic books and I admit I really don't know any marvel heroes except Spider-Man, X-Man, Iron Man and Daredevil but as long as Spider-Man doesn't start to sing it will be alright.

Although crossover between Darkwing Duck and Marvel might be interessting to see.;)

As has been said, Disney is capable of doing great movies - when they don't make two sequels for it. Pocahontus did not need a sequel, nor Aladdin having two. Alantis: the Lost Empire didn't need a sequel, nor did Mulan. And so on.

    I'm doubting any mind-boggling crossovers, but we'll see, I guess. We'll see.

Yep. Saw a bit of Aladdin the third. It was awful. I believe they were all Direct-To-Video/DVD releases though, so it's probably not that surprising that people aren't aware of them.

That's DC bro. You mean Avengers.

Wasn't there supposed be a Deadpool movie? The chances of making that PG-13 just went up. I had a little hope for it too.:(

    He's already met Hal Jordan.

Disney's not going to spend four billion dollars in cash and stocks in the purchase of Marvel Entertainment only to suddenly fire everyone or ruin the company. That just seems like bad business sense... not that I'm an expert on business at all.

So long as Marvel can show a stable or increasing stream of revenue, Disney probably won't step in... though I wouldn't mind seeing less Quesada and fucking Jeph Loeb, but that's a personal preference.
