Wow. If that is accurate, then it's definitely a change of pace from the whole We're-on-a-fast-track-to-the-Apocalypse vibe the series was building up.

Not sure if I'm liking the overall tone of that.

 

On the other hand, I'm going to say that I like where this is going.

 

Heh heh...Harry as a poltergeist. Not sure if that sounds like where Changes was heading, but it would be amusing.

"God dammit Molly, use your Sight! I'm standing right here!" *she goes to take a shower* "...This must be how Bob feels all the time..."

Look's like Morty's going to be getting more screentime in Ghost Story, though I've been expecting as much since the end of Changes.

 

Morty certainly looks to be getting more screen time. Anyone else get the feeling he's gonna try & communicate with Murphy or Thomas using the old salt trick?

Mouse will probably be able to sense him somehow, and will then proceed to annoy Molly about it, or whoever has taken care of Mouse since Dresdens apparent Death. On the other side of things, we can't be too sure till Aftermath, when we see how Muprhy reacts and what happens.

I'm slightly hesitant about the idea, if that's true in all honesty. Of course, he'll probably pull it off in some amazing way that I don't expect.

 

I wonder what's going to happen to Molly. With her sponsor dead, will the Doom of Damocles still apply, or will she just be executed?

Good observation. It was never removed from Molly, and without Dresden around, there is no one speaking up for her and intervening with the death sentence already passed on her.

As for what is going to happen, well… we’ll see.

 

Sounds like potentially Molly doing a runner then; Possible candidate number 1 for whom Ghost!Dresden is determined to save?

 

Of course the problem with that is that the Doom of Damocles sticks with you even after you've become a member of the Council.

 

Has this been confirmed as the blurb? It doesn't feel right.

 

Not confirmed I think, but odds are its true.

That being said however, there was talk on the official forums that apparently authors often don't get to write their own blurbs so while this might be based on a description of sorts from Butcher, the exact wording is probably not his.

 

The tests to gain entry to the White Council aren't anything great. They're basically a measure of how powerful you are and whether you can control that power to any great degree. It's not as if they judge your character and only let you in if you were born under a certain star sign, they're basically just a big group of the most powerful wizards in the world.

Remember, the Council is above any moral/political matters except when they refer to the Laws and the various supernatural nations.
